I have to say, the overall scheme looks awesome, much better than the older design and the pic that was leaked out. The front looks very sharp and hugely resembles the colour scheme of the BC Ferries. However, they should've added more of the free flowing stripes throughout the length of the train, just like the MKII trains. They've even modified the Canada Line logo (notice the font of the words).
However, I'll have to criticize the route map of the C-Line inside the train. It's copied directly from the C-Line website. The words are way too small in relation to the room that it can accomodate. The ones on HK's MTR looks so much better, and that also has electronic route maps. When the MTR approaches an interchange station, all of the stations for the entire line that passengers can change into are lighted up, and that is very neat and clear. Also, they should re-make the map such that it includes the route maps of BOTH Expo and Millenium Lines, so as to make the Skytrain system much more unified, as well as to give passengers/tourists a much better picture of where they can go.
If you see the
www.canada.com video, you can see the route map , and within that, you can see the extra stop marking the future Capstan Way Station. Looks like Capstan Station is pretty much finalized eh? It also shows all of the future stations (57th, 33rd Aves etc).
AND WHERE'S THE "SKYTRAIN" LOGO???? So I guess they aren't really branding this as part of the unified Skytrain system? That's really a pity.
Weird. Now the C-line website says that the capacity for both seated and standing passengers is up to 400. Before, it said 334. What's up with this discrepancy?
