Does anyone have information about the relative heights of the adjacent buildings? Specifically, I'd like to know the height of the building south of WV in relation to the height of the amenities level.

Also, I'd like to know the height of the United building (formerly the Donnelly Building), and it's relation to the residence levels (in other words, what's the lowest WV level that is higher than the peak of the United building).

I've been reading this thread for a long time, and I've been interested in Waterview Tower for a couple years. It's great to see so many people taking an interest in it!

Harry,Cbot, and Victor come outta the wood work with updates! That set of three updates might be the best contextual update to go up in any of the Chicago forums in a while. 300 N. Lasalle peaking over Waterview in Bvic's post, and Waterview around the bend from Trump in Cbot's. GREAT stuff guys! Still waiting on that balcony shot if you wish to do so Dan, that view is terrific as well.

RR Donnelley (United Building) = 668'
Loop Transportation Center = 336'

So I'm not sure what floor the amenities level is (it looks like it is either 28 or 29) in either case it is a little lower than the LTC.

As far as what floor is the first to get over the top of RR Donnelley, you will need to be on 62 or higher.

Slightly off-topic, but relevant to the present discussion: I always thought that RR Donnelley was 695', close to IBM. Did I just blow this figure, or is there some kind of "non structural" part on top or reference point that causes it?

I ask because sometimes I don't see all of the info that is on Emporis since I am not a part of the inner circle.

I'm not in the circle either, it's OK. I just used the height given. Now it is labeled " Height (struct.)" and there is a space for "Height (tip)", but given that there are no antenna or spires one Donnelley, I don't think they would be any different.

Even if they where, they wouldn't effect this exercise. As far as your figure, I've got no clue...

The heights that headcase quoted are accurate.

This is a great project. It'll be nice when Waterview, Trump, and the Spire are all done. They'll have quite an impact on the skyline. Not to mention Chicago will have 7 towers over 1000'
