^^^ You can definitely see the slight bulge in the front of the building now. Especially in that last picture.

If there is no law against it, on what grounds could they fight Waterview on that specific issue? Considering that there are precedents all over the place, I don't think they could get anywhere on it.

You can't sue someone for blocking your view. Even if the zoning ordinance is changed in the blocker's favor, as long as the process was open to the public for debate and voted on, there isn't anything you can do. This is a good thing otherwise cities could never build more than a collection of spread out buildings because everyone would be suing each other.

I would imagine that the property line was checked more than twice when setting the building footprint. Imagine the liability disaster if the surveyor was off by a few inches and the building was constructed spanning a property line. I have actually worked on a project in the city that had an existing building 4 feet over a property line. It was a mess, and that was a small project, when you start talking tens of millions of dollars, i think things would get ... heated.

Most of that wall is blank. There are very few windows. And if you notice, at the front corner where most of the windows are, they did leave space so light can still get in. They didn't have to, they could have blocked all the windows.

Exactly how close are those two buildings? It appears as if someone could hand a construction worker a cup of coffee from an open window.

More like 2"

The model on display shows more windows being blocked on the SE than are, possible enclosed fire escape at the last minute ?

I bet these guys want that elevator finished.

For most of the way they are only a few inches apart, towards the front there is a little notch that opens up and lets a little light into some of the other buildings windows.

I wonder if the people in that building next door will have a view into the parking garage to watch the fancy cars get parked. I sure looks like it when watching them pour the garage levels.

The model shows a meter or 2 gap above the parking area ( 1oth flr ? ) and a blank wall facing the building, so no view of the cars being parked. But on 10 and above .......
