Bvictor, you are going to the GP3+4 meeting Thursday night right? I think I might be able to attend and would like to know exactly where it is going to be. Like I know its Roosevelt University, but where in Roosevelt University is it, is there just one building, etc?

Yes, I'm going to that meeting. Remember, it's on October 4th. I don't know which building on Roosevelt's campus it's beeing held, but rest assure, I've already put inquiries in and was told that I will be informed, especially since I'm a supporter of the project

When I find out what building or room the meeting is being held, it will be posted here.

You can bet that I am in support of it as well. Perhaps we can meet up if I can come. I have to make it to Roosevelt Universtiy in 15-20 minutes from the Water Tower... I guess I should ride my bike, its faster than transit over short distances...

There was a 1-story warehouse that was demolished there over the past few weeks. It was pretty much non-descript, but probably better than whatever they have planned. I asked around, but haven't heard anything beyond vacant land for sale or parking lot.

Zoning is DX-5. Combined with the parking lot next to it, and with a few FAR bonuses added for various contributions/perks, the site could probably be developed into something in the 20-30 story range. Was this the site of Flair Tower, possibly?

They had some fantastic shots of the city on the football game last night. From the air, up the river, and lake shots. I still get a chubby every time I see a good angle. I can't wait to see a river shot once Trump, 300 N. LaSalle, and Waterview are up. It'll look fantastic.

Flair Tower is at the NE corner of Franklin/Erie, so it's a good block away.

The site you discuss at Orleans/Huron was supposed to be the site of 300 West Huron, but that was never built. It's a shame, too - Brininstool & Lynch produced a beautiful design, with some serious height (35 fl).

Well Chicago Shawn, if the project hasn't been approved I don't now what they are doing at the site because they have been driving piles all day today. I was mistaken; it is not a caisson drill, but a hydraulic pile driver. I would assume inserting 80 foot long steel I-beams in to the soil would be considered construction and not site-prep?

Have we gotten a re-worked rendering since the drop in height?

^^ Cool, thanks, Spyguy. Then, I think The Andrew is off to a good start. All they need to do is soften the base by better integrating it with the overall design, and I'd guess it will be a fine addition.

Nice photo, but still really don't like the look of that parking base. I hate parking garages and no one can make them look good above ground, no one. Not Johnson, not even Calatrava... thankfully he realizes this and is putting his underground, where it belongs.
