No it wouldn't. That last picure there shows exactly where the building would have to go (Four Seasons doesn't go all the way to 15th).

edit: that area would be downright crowded with 1100 15th, Four Seasons, and the Great Gulf Tower. Whew... By the way... I cannot say enough good things about what has been done with the Executive Tower at street level... take a walk down there at night, and it's just plain *nice*... me likes a lot.

I totally agree about the street level treatment of the Executive Tower, Brent. It looks positively wonderful!

....although Four Seasons doesn't go all the way to 15th.....there is just a norrow parcel remaining. The picture shows the building taking up half the same side. I would agree that if the building was re-designed, it could certainly fit on the same side. The parcel surely is bigger than the one Great Gulf will be built on. But I would think they would use the other half of the block instead.....

There isn't another half block... the Four Seasons parcel goes all the way from Arapahoe to Lawrence (the surface lot along Lawrence in the rendering is theirs)... The Hines parcel is exactly the same as it always was, even if the renderings are a bit deceptive.

I was confused! Other half of the block? The other half of the block is where Four Seasons is going, so there ISN"T another half that Hines can build on, just the half that they have! The parking lot on the 14th & Lawrence side is where Four Seasons-Teatro holds the proposal for a future Phase Two tower.

It would be nice to see a new building on that site reflect the character of the old Central Bank building. It was a major loss for Denver when it was torn down in 1985-86.

.....the renderings looked as if the Hines Building took half of the Arapahoe side, but the Four Seasons rendering from the sw looks like it will fit....(certainly the bigest conglemeration of downtown buildings in a small area if they all get built). Like you said before, "dueling cranes"

....from overhead the Hines parcel looks wider than I realized...

It's not huge by any means, but it's fully 265'-ish wide (since, as i'm sure bcp will note with some annoyance, we're losing yet another alley)

i thought the central bank building was a little later... 1989/1990? it was mayor pena i know, because he tried to stop it. god we were morons.

and the Luby Chevrolet car lot at the other end of the block was unique....sadly they had removed many of the other older buildings around it and it sat like a 11 or 12 story monolith across from the new black Central Bank and Rio Grande building on one side and Brooks towers on the other side......originally Brooks towers was going to be round like the Marina Towers in Chicago (same owners)

Now THAT'S an interesting tidbit of info Instead we ended up with a poo-brown box. Then again, it did give Denver a 40+ story skyscraper in 1968, when almost no western US cities had one.

I was just thinking as I was looking over the highrise rundown, 14th street is going to look real good in 5 years. Hell it will practically change the face of this City literally!!! And for the better, imagine Denver in 15-20 years from now, with this current construction boom maintaining it's current course throughout a 15-20 year span!!! OMG.....

Denver might become a top 10 U.S. City! Edge out Detroit! Hahahaha we can only hope right...

Well, it would be unprecedented for Denver's current construction boom to last another 15-20 years. Personally, I think we've about seen the climax of this current boom. This boom will be winding down by around 2009-10...

However, I do think another boom is very possibly at the completion of FasTracks starting about 2014-16. That boom could very well see one or more new tallest for the city of Denver.
