Certainly many new buildings have higher floors than older buildings and depending on how they topped the building out...it could end up close to or even slightly above the 718 ft. Republic Building with its 56 floors. But, if we get a new tallest, I hope it will be noticibly taller than anything we have now...ala The US Bank building in the LA skyline.

depends on whats on top of the tower... a big spire could easily push it past the 56 stories of republic plaza

I hope it's not about the same height as the Four Seasons and 1401 Lawrence towers - which will all be less than a block away from it. That just seems like it would kind of waste all three towers, if they were so close together and so close in height as well.

It would look much better with the Four Seasons' spire standing above 1401 Lawrence (but 1401 Lawrence having a taller looking roof-line - interesting contrast!), THEN have this new proposal reach up above them all. That would actually look very nice!

So BCP is this the tower you were hinting about a few weeks back? The one that could possibly be Denver's new tallest? If so? was a sales guy saying "wait and see, skyline changing"...that's really all i know...but 47 could reach 600 feet - just what our skyline needs.

All the highrises being built are changing the skyline. Between 4 Seasons, Spire, 1401, Tabor II, and if this project gets built, there will be some serious density on the west end of downtown. That would be awesome. It would be really nice though to see a tower that significantly rises above the others.

Think about it like this:

Downtown Denver currently has the Big 3 (Republic, Qwest, Western Union) plus a borderline Big 4th (1999 California)...

On the other end of downtown are now proposals for a Big 3 (New Hines, Four Seasons, 1401 Lawrence) plus a near Big 4th and 5th (Two Tabor, Spire).

If these all get built, they will essentially double the impact of Denver's skyline.

Not to mention whatever may be waiting in the wings like at the fontius block, he said maybe up to 40 in the article... more tall density

Well, your first part is correct. With their heights on both towers, Four Seasons' roofline is somewhere in the neighborhood of 500-550 feet. Great Gulf will be 587 feet soooooo...it will have a taller roof. BUT, the 4S spire brings it up to roughly 650 feet. Now, if we could just convince this possible Hines tower to be around 700....which is very possible with a decent top structure like on Tabor II. I think 675-700 feet would be great for a 47-story tower, and would fit right in proportionallly if it were an office building with a 14 foot floor-to-floor foot counts or a crown.

Ya know if they would have just built the damn thing! It would already be complete and probably full of tenants by now, expecially for how low the vacancy rate is in Denver. Damnit! Damnit! Damnit! Oh well now they can watch Tabor II soak it up! LOL Hahaha losers.....

After looking at those rendering closer, man that's a big tower. Even with 4S next door being taller it would way over power it in sheer size. Mind you it takes up the whole parcel that Hines owns unlike 4S that doesn't. YesI know they have room to expand, but who knows if/when that will ever happen.

Isn't Hines now building a dinky little 10 Story building now on that very same location?

Man I can't wait for Tabor II to start up and then the Hines guys will be like damn did we make the right decision? This pisses me off a bit, there is an old saying; "if you build it they will come" And I believe it's true!!!

BTW Not really sure where the thread for 1LP went? But I went to Elitch's and took the scenic route from I-25 the 38th/downtown exit coming into the city from up north. Anyway 1LP is starting to really look good! seems like the floor count is getting closer to 20 now, it's really starting to rise baby! I LOVE IT!!!

I was at the main Post Office today, and I have to say, seeing from left to right, Portifino, 1LP, Cashie, Republic Plaza and then 1999 Brodaway all in one view was impressive.
