I passed a Hispanic guy maybe mid to late 20s I'm guessing, 240 pounds, 5'7" roughly, and he was pissing all over the sidewalk......He accuses me of checking him out, calls me a "fucking faggot" and makes all of these other homophobic, racist statements, "You from Frisco you fuckin' queer, you little cracker faggot" and all of this nonsense......there's absolutely no way he seriously thought I was "checking him out" and I'm completely 100% straight besides that.

....So then he says, "Why don't you just leave homes, just get the fuck out of here." I said, "Ok, that's fine, I'll leave, but are you going to quit following me?" He doesn't answer, he just gives me another string of profanity, calls me a faggot cracker, blah blah etc.

On another note, I passed by the LA Central site, and it's not yet surrounded by fencing, as posted earlier. There is one section of fence up on 12th and two small sections along Figueroa. So it's not a go yet, but it's one to keep an eye on.

Another thing to note on LA Central, there's a structure that will have to come down in the middle of the parking lot. I'm not sure exactly what its purpose is, but it appears to house some kind of mechanical or electrical equipment.

Regarding LA Central, I know this is an old rendering of the Ritz and LA Central (LA Central will be much taller, yes!), but look what LA Central is doing to Staples. I will mark the day as a milestone when the roof of staples is covered by a shadow.

That bldg is the Title guarantee lofts, which I believe already is open & available for leasing. I've heard the psf leasing rates for it are quite high.

The owner of that bldg has close ties with the devlpr of Parkfifth, & so I'm sure the early response to the TG bldg will have some impact on plans for parkfifth, inc how aggressive the devlpr will be in getting construction actually underway.

And thanks for your pic. It shows that parkfifth's billboard was set up rather well, anchored in small concrete pylons. Other pics of it made me unsure whether the sign was super temporary, perhaps sitting on rollers to be carted away quickly, or so flimsily built that it looked like the owner wanted to save a few bucks.

And your photo shows again why I really hate that parking lot. It really deadens the corner of 5th & Olive, & the Pershing Sq area in general.

the move ins for the Title Guarantee Building are slated for November. i checked them out last weekend, along with the Delano lofts, and both were very very nice.

Also noticed that the empty Frank L. Robinson warehouse has newly erected scaffolding around it. Anyone know what's planned for that property? (Flower and 12th)

NICE By looking at Hanover anyone know if they will have Electronic LED billboards? I hope they do it will definitely make that area very colorful at night.

That's interesting. I haven't seen any plans for that property, but I've always wanted that building to come down. Whatever gets built there should be pretty dense. It's practically right on top of a Blue Line stop.

You liked the Delano Lofts? I'm really interested to hear what you have to say about those. I LOVE the location and the building is beautiful. I haven't been inside yet but plan on taking a tour soon. What do they rent for?

My bf and I are so sick of Mozaic. As soon as my lease is up, we're outta there! UGH!

I was at your namesake for dinner last night and checked out the site, though there still wasn't any additional activity. I'm so glad they've finally started clearing more of the site! That construction site will be a tough one for you probably (noise, etc), but it'll be great once it's done. I'd love that view of the construction.

I'm so eager to see Los Angeles Street cleaned up further (I'm still amazed at how far it's come since a few years ago). Thanks for the update!

My understanding is that the signs around the lower portion of Hanover Tower are LED’s. Since this tower is catty-corner to LA Live, these signs will feed into the LA Live lighting and really light up that intersection.

You are right. The energy in downtown is changing and it’s changing rather rapidly. Other cities are getting new skyscrapers; we’re getting a new downtown.

ya, they were very nice. they will become condos in about 3 years. they have leased 81 out of 100 units in 3 months or so, and the rests were 1775 for a 770 sq foot unit, 2100 for a 950 sq foot unit and so on.

I believe that structure is an underground bank vault originally (or still?) owned by bank of America. I vaguely remember reading about it several yrs ago, & I'm not sure if it's never been torn out because BofA still wants to use it, or cuz it would be to pricey to take out. I think I read that it's the type of vault that is specialized enough that duplicating it elsewhere wouldn't be easy. The fact it's still on that site makes me think the devlprs of LA central, believe it or not, may have to build around it, & that its owner (again, BofA?) really intends to hold onto it til the bitter end.

Finally! The devlpr sure is going through a multi stage process. I notice his contractors still haven't even removed 2 small billboards on the site, & the various makeshift light fixtures.

If that parking lot at least had been put together like the ones around Staples, with some landscaping, professional light poles & nice looking gates (instead of chain link), it wouldn't have been as big----& bad----a deadzone all these yrs.

Still very curious what may be said about the Medallion & other projs at the community meeting tomorrow.
