The link above has a picture at the bottom for where it will be located. I like that it will be bringing more people into the area. Hopefully this can help spur future development in the area. I do wish it was more then 40 units but that is a start.
I believe that would be the Rad-8 condos listed a few pages back in this thread. They are very cool. They are being built on a site that now has a radiator shop therefore the special name. Look in previous posts it is a great project and they have a great website.

I don't think anything will happen on it until Broadway Park Lofts is completed. It seems like Allen Millo only works on one large project at a time, but I don't have any insider info.

what is taking them so long on the Broadwya park lofts? I know they had to start over because they took out that5 old office building, but that was months and months ago. I was at the site last week and it was still bare... absoultely nothing. I saw construction workers in there and I got all excited thinking they were going start building, but all they did is grab some shit and close the gate again. ... anyone have any news?

I was intrigued by the Allen Millo project, so I went to their web site. The renderings and plans are sort of hard to figure out, but I did find out a few things. It's bigger than it looks; it's actually eight stories tall. There is one floor of retail and one commercial. The rest are residential. It's very industrial-urban. Looks like it has an open core. It looks very cool, but I don't think it will be everyone's cup of tea. I hope they start constuction soon.

Wow--if what they do is similar to those plans of the grounds, it'll be impressive. I got to tour the interior about two years ago, and went up on the scaffolding inside the dome--I'm impressed with what they've uncovered and how faithful they're trying to be to the original vision. This will be spectacular when its finished.

Of all counties in the U.S. CNNMoney.com places three Wasatch Metro Counties in top 10 for job growth over past six years.

http://money.cnn.com/galleries/2007/moneymag/0707/gallery.BPTL_job_growth.moneymag/index.html

#1 Tooele County

Towns include: Tooele
Job growth (2000-2006): 112.5%

Since its inception in 1850, Tooele had always been a mining area - but now scientific and technical fields are blossoming too. The county - one of the first in Utah - is near full employment and wages are growing at an above-average rate. Helping out is a plan by Pittsburgh-based Allegheny Technologies Inc. to build a $325 million metals plant that will employ 150 people at an average salary of $45,000.

#4 Summit County

4. Summit County, Utah
Towns include: Park City, Summit Park
Job growth (2000-2006): 51.4%

With a philosophy that tends to be more progressive than some other Utah communities, Summit County's bread and butter is the furniture and furnishing-wholesale industry. But real estate and office-administrative services have shown 200-plus percent gains in employment during the past five years. Investment services also are growing rapidly.

#6 Wasatch County

6. Wasatch County, Utah
Towns include: Heber
Job growth (2000-2006): 50.4%

At more than $73,000 a year, Wasatch County business-equipment dealers earn on average 22 percent more than their counterparts across the state, making that the best-paying sector in the economy. But the county also boasts a strong base for markets traders. Computer-systems design is set to be the top growth sector in the coming years - employment in this sector has soared more than 300 percent so far this decade. Locals believe Wasatch's biggest future gains will be coming from big-box retailers.

Cool! How is it, that you were able to take a tour, if it's not open to the public yet? Can you hook me up with a tour of the dome?

I knew the Capitol and new wings would be impressive, but I didn't realize how beautiful the grounds would be.
Can someone tell me if the offices to the north are going to be replaced by something similar to the new east and west wings ?

I was wondering the same thing myself, so I checked utahstatecapitol.utah.gov, and yes, it will be replaced, but I don't think until after the capitol is completed.

I've always hated that building and will be glad to see it go.

It was part of a capitol rebuilding project they were doing with school teachers...after teaching the kids about the capitol, they took some of the teachers on a tour. That was a while back. I'm sure the scaffolding inside the dome is down now. It was pretty cool, though--I think I still have pictures of it on my computer somewhere...

That is definitely the plan. My office did the design for all of the site planning/landscape architecture. So we are all pretty excited to finally see some of the cherry trees coming in and being planted. It is going to be a HUGE improvement over what was there previously.

I'm also very excited about the gardens gbb, and especially the cherry tree promenade. This will become a major visitor draw, rivaling the gardens on the Temple Square Campus and some of my favorites in my native Paris.

So that's what's going on? I took my lil' bro driving yesterday after church (he's on his learner's permit), and I saw the capitol was torn apart. I assumed it was all part of the earthquake retrofit. I must say that's gonna look great when it's all done!

While on the subject of the Capitol project, I found this interesting article from Building Stone Magazine. I think a lot of you building geeks like me will find it pretty interesting.
