As best I know no firefighters yet but we do have a number of teachers, retired teachers, nurses and cops. I will confidently tell you that we will have many more than any other new building.

It appears that Constellation's Star Riverside project website is now up and running:

http://www.starriversideaustin.com/

Here are some renderings of the 1st phase, which will be oriented closest to Lady Bird Lake. Later phases will include taller structure(s) behind and along Riverside Drive.

Site, in relation to downtown

I know this is a little late in the week for some updates but I wanted to post some of the pics I took this weekend and they contain some things people have been discussing since then. The crane that removed the crane for AMLI II.

AMLI II Crane removing a Crane.

Monarch: Looking from 360 on the left (scafolding)

The Shore: There have not been many pics of this one, its almost done.

View from Barton Creek: Shows Spring to Shore wide view.

The Automobile Dealers Assoc. Building going up on Lavaca and 12th looks like it just finished the garage part and is now starting the first business floor, only 5 left to go.

The Building at San Antonio and 13th accross from the EOB may get going soon, the lawyers that were in the house facing San Antonio have moved out. So its 2 empty homes and a small parking lot. Should be interesting to watch it go up accross the street.

I wish the Monarch would post there pricing and floor plans online soon, they seem like they are behind, unless the website was a teaser to see about intrest and they revert back to apartments. Just wandering what there market stratagy is so different from the rest.

Lastly the W Hotel Residences seem interesting but some of the larger units seem weird to live in, design wise that is 2D and P2, and whats with no balconies on some of the smaller units 1A. Did anyone notice that each unit has its own AC unit in it taking up space unlike all the others, just a thought why?

YEah it's amazing. Just had two friends visit who left two years ago. It was amazing to realize what has changed in two years.

I could have swore I saw some floor plan diagrams of 21c somewhere on their site or elsewhere. Actually the whole layout of hotel, condo, etc. floor by floor. And after researching the 21C site I can't find the layout of the building. Where are these renditions?

I really cant wait till all the buildings and condos are done on the riverfront. We desperately need a Waterfront District like many other cities to make more people wanna move and wanna come to downtown. Im sure if its done it will be great. Make a boardwalk snd shops and bistros with trees. Wow im going all out aren't I? Haha. Well What would be more awesome would be if Austin had a observation tower like Dallas and S.A. but on the Waterfront District. So we can go to the top and see the hills and the beautiful city. LOL Wow i dream to much! I guess cuz I'm here at work at 12:18am and bored! Boo!

I was just telling someone here in India how Austin needs an observation tower, with a restaurant at the top overlooking the Town Lake. Preferably in the 40-50 story range.

Thanks for the Welcome GUYS!

Really?? Thats cool! Well I was also thinking it should be at the mouth of Waller Creek emptying into Town lake. Connect the Waller Creek "Riverwalk" with the Waterfront District would be awesome. Im sure i could sketch a little and make something nice. I studied Architecture at Academy of Art Univ in San Fran but i dropped out after a year Not enough Aid... Anyways! Yeah, would be nice!

The Austin City Council will vote today to rename Town Lake 'Lady Bird Lake' after Lady Bird Johnson.

So is the new park still going to be Town Lake Park, or is the going to be Lady Bird Park too?

^ I wondered about that. And what about the hike and bike trail?

Regarding Town Lake Park, I heard on the news that the hold up right now from opening it to the public is that they still have to do a few finishing touches on the pond. Apparently they still have some concrete to pour or something. They said they need to drain the pond and let it dry out for about a week before they can finish work. They said they plan to open it either mid-August to September. It's really a guess at this point thanks to the weather. I really can't wait for it to open because it's going to be a great place to take pictures and view the city.

I think it should stay Town Lake, and the park should be Lady Bird Park.

Wow! Good pics Ivanwolf of the AMLI II crane being dismantled!

I've always wondered how they raise the height on the cranes. The only thing that I can come up with is that the existing sections are braced against the structure of the building and a crane truck lifts the boom off, and suspends it while the new sections are bolted in place. Hopefully 360 will raise their crane this weekend, as it would be quite a show to watch.

Will Wynn was on 101x this morning (I dont know why, but he seems to call in to them alot) going over this.

Basically, everything is going to be renamed Lady Bird Lake that has Town Lake in it now, but over time. They also contacted all the local businesses and non profits that have "Town Lake" in their name and got a universal blessing from them before they did it. This is something that they had been talking with her about doing in memorium of her and she was fine with that and the family supports the move.

So I guess We'll have the "Lady Bird Lake Animal Shelter", "Lady Bird Lake Hike and Bike Trail", etc. within the next few years.

I think its fitting that such a great area with alot of greenspace be named after a woman who did so much for parks in this country.
