Off-Topic Chatter Babble

The reason I have not complained about off-topic chatter babble, is because to do so - is in itself - off-topic chatter babble. Just as this post is as well. So for me to make a post complaining about it, makes me guilty of the very thing I would be complaining about - thus making me a hypocrite.

I think most of us can agree it is frustrating at times, to have to comb through worthless babble in order to find the good stuff. However, it really is only as annoying, as you wish to choose to make it.

excuse me, but what was the construction purpose of that post? If you have construction news to post, post it, otherwise quit bitching about what we are chatting about. Believe me, if there was anything to talk about, we would be discussing it. But in the meantime, what is the harm in banter? I don't think "silence is golden" quite applies to an internet forum.

I'm going to say we have a new winner. And Page 15? Wow, is he talking about the future? Like when we get to page 15 on this thread there will be some seriously non-construction banter going on, you mark my word. He's probably right. But it's a forecast worthy of the Channel 4 Weather Team led by Brick Tamland.

I would like to extend to you an invitation to the pants party.

I think that schmuck still takes the cake, Giovoni... However, this new guy's definitely number two in that regard!

Hey, quit with the light-hearted banter. If you don't anything construction-related to say, just stay quiet.

Just as long as it's construction-related mean spirited vindictiveness.

For example:

Not acceptable - "Your a jerk"

Acceptable - "Your a jerk and your cities buildings are ugly too."

You don't even want to know, Ribeye... But here's a very short version of it...

Lost phone at DIA, flew to Anchorage, food was very expensive, my meetings with my company's office in Anchorage were fine, but were substantially shortened due to unforseen circumstances in the office. Found out that my cousin's bachelor party and wedding were called off. Went to Kenai anyway (where they live), ended up having to hitchhike about 10 miles at the end of the bus/van trip... Found out about a restraining order, found out their townhouse was a complete disaster. Stayed with my cousin at his friend's place (along with his two kids and his friend's two kids). Slept on a sofa for 4 nights. Flew a red-eye back from Anchorage to Denver. Got home. During this time, I did manage to see an awesome glacier, see Dall's Sheep on a rocky ledge, see a few momma moose with babies in tow cross the road, saw a bald eagle perched in its nest about 20 feet from me along a trail, made a good friend who lives in midtown Manhattan who's offered me a place to stay whenever I visit NYC, met my cousin for the first time (along with his kids and his ex-fiancee), and had an overall crazy time...

Needless to say, thank goodness I'm back to the controlled insanity of my life in Denver!

While I agree it's not the best way to introduce one's self, UpUpUp is probably like me when I joined a couple years back; a long time reader, but new poster. I remember getting urk'd also, but learned over time to sift through the off-topic stuff and stop getting frustrated.

That being said.....Did I miss something on the landmark accident? The news referred to floor 14 being the top floor. I thought this was to be a 22 to 23 story project. Am I missing something or have I had one too many Martinis over the 4th?

Holy smokes, dude! That sounds painful. Like a really painful and sad Nat'l Lampoons movie. Ouch. I'm sorry to hear all of that. At least you saw an eagle though! Hope your cousin and his family are doing better.

Ouch... insult to injury!

And to top it all off, Aaron, not even one single mention of development/construction in that entire story. Dude, please, stay on topic.
