Downtown Chandler is coming along quite well. The city is doing a ton to re-facade some of the older buildings, "discourage" some day workers from hanging out on the streets, and create better landscaping and curb appeal to the downtown area. The new condos are looking great, and construction has begun to fill in many of the areas. Unfortunately, the welcome center to the south was filled with a Wal-Mart supercenter, Sam's club, and mini-mall crap. Still, the area has a long way to go before I would want to live there. With land running out in 3 to 5 years in Chandler, it is only a matter of time before the city will start modeling Tempe's growth plan.
I am excited for Downtown Ocotillo, which will have several 5-6 story office buildings and condos, along with several restaurants and small boutique stores, including the state's first Tesco.
