so its officially taller than the roof of conde naste and just short of being taller than the rooftop structure. great progess. the one thing i cannot complain about is the height

If you can manage to get a wide shot, you could effectively have 5 spires in a single photo.

From left to right = Chrysler, Empire State, BOA, Conde Naste & NY Times (all within a reasonable walking distance between).

And once the new World Trade Center is fully built out, and the Hudson Yards project completed... AND the Vornado MSG towers finished... and the tower at the Hotel Penn site is done... AND the hotel tower at the Javits Convention Center...

I always felt that way about the ESB, although its great in its own right. As you wind your way up to the ESB deck, you notice the view is better in that last room you go through before the final trip up. Being closer to the towers gives a better look, but each deck has it's advantage. I'm grateful we have them both. I wonder if the other planned towers in Midtown will have decks. I certainly hope so.

Manhattan is less of a skyline, and more of a forest of skyscrapers. It takes something impressive to stand out.
But the Bloomberg really should have been more...

Nice set, Carlos. You really get a sense for this tower's girth in them (in a good way). And I'm liking this glass more and more, I can't wait to see this crystal fully sheathed!

I don't know. That glass on an ordinary rectangular box would look ...well, ordinary. But those angles on the building will make it really stand out.

I'd say it's time for some real 1000+ footers in midtown. Maybe the red arrow would not be needed.
