Which isn't going to be finished for at least another 1 or two. When is the automation of checkin going to be completed? That should at least help in relieving some area of transborder at least.

Peace Air (operating from GP, Peace River) to Edmonton MUni has gone under. Frankly I am glad - Peace Air was a thorn in the side of EAI - Al Cooper and is dancing bear: Gary Freidel (former MLA). Central Mountain Air has also been operating from YEG to most of the same places that Peace Air served. So - it will not be hardship on any of these communities - and likely CMA or another airline operating from YEG may provide backfill. The good news is: ding dong the witch is dead. Now lets get on and close the Muni - and get on and build Port Alberta at YEG.

One more point - News articles over the last few days need to be read carefully - as to who is saying what. Peace Air did not blame EAA in any articles to date. It is Rick Anderson - an air services consultant based out of Calgary and a pro Calgary promoter that made the statement about Peace Air difficulties operating from the Muni. Rick is a spin-doctor that has over the years done immeasurable damage to YEG and this City and he is at it again.

Ahhh errr, how about we don't worry about it. This is the same rhetoric that came out in the papers when Quikair folded.

YEG is way out the gates and the Muni debate in my opinion, is practically non-existant.

I was in Montreal over the long weekend. The non-stop Westjet flight out thurs. morning was PACKED, as was the AC monday morning return flight (minus about half of the executive class seats) was PACKED as well.

On a side note, the AC A320 I was on had the personal video system installed. Not a bad little system - once they get all the functionality working (i.e. map, etc.)

Hopefully YUL goes year round on WJ, then YOW would be another nice addition.

I was listening to Primeau on CHED on Monday as I was driving back into the city, and she was talking about how YEG has no new service since consolidation, and she is in favour of re-opening the Muni. Can you believe this?? Someone on her show said that the only new flights that aren't charter are LAX. If my cell phone wasn't dead, she'd have heard from me!
