Steely et al,

OK, the stuff on Evanston was actually released... but not to the public yet. I guess it is circulating around in Evanston's City Hall now, I presume for some kind of "preapproval." Facades of the landmark building will be preserved, but I gather that its footprint will be entered, and I think the building at the back of the site is a goner. I also think several green features will be a part of the development. That's all for now.

I think you guys are forgetting the new riverfront park to be built next door to trump. It will be much grander than the River Plaza space now and will actually be classified as public open space. I say bring on the density, it will sit right above our next downtown transit line.

I think you and Honte both bring up good points about this proposal. I guess I'm on the side of - only build here if it's much taller than the mid-rise proposed and a strong design....in this location, it seems like such a waste to build just a 17-story residential building...

Great updates, Solarwind and hydrogen. I keep saying it, but 600 Fairbanks

and Parkview West is also shaping up to a very nice addition. This might be a first, but I'm actually interested in seeing how the parking podium turns out for 550 St. Clair.

It looks like The Clare is actually on pace to be completed before 2015 - good news. I think it's going to be a very solid addition - that model looks promising...bring on the curves!

Yah know what would be really nice is a 60 story building in exchange for decking over Hubbard Street between Wabash and Rush and then dedicating it back to the city as a linear park. That stretch of Hubbard is nothing but loading docks and blank walls anyway, execpt for Phill Stafani's at the corner with Rush Street.

Also, thanks for the photo updates. I love the round structure of the Clare. That is shapping up to look cooler than I expected.

30 West Erie is really disappointing. I have no idea why they mixed in yellow brick; perhaps it's left over from the Regatta.

At least it's short and doesn't stand out too much.

^Agreed its awfull, but at least the red adds some much needed color to that section of River North. What is really amazing in that second photo you posted is that nearly every building was built in this boom.

Now, there's a good idea. This would be a real win-win for all involved. I always thought those streets were planned for such a development - most of the structures seem to have anticipated it. Anyone know the history of this little area?

In regards to The Claire being on schedule, I was talking to the president of Loyola University (because I am a student there) and he was saying that they are planning on having classes in it second semester next year, so I sure hope its still on schedule, or it will really mess up the campus expansion plans at LUC...
