That was hardly a productive post. There is a lot of negativity in your messages, and it may be time for you to do some self-reflection.

Speaking of environmental impact, just looking at YEG's location being 35km from the average person it serves means an extra 100,000,000 km of driving (conservative estimate) per year. A lose-lose scenario.

The YZF announcement by Air Canada two weeks ago to increase to 2x daily to YZF (Yellowknife), looks like it is null.

I have a few questions about YEG for whomever would like to answer. First off, I never fly and know very little about YEG. Anyways, myself and 3 others are flying to Vegas tomorrow morning and I would like to know if a guy can park at the airport? (last week they recommended not driving to the airport due to lack of parking) And if there is parking, where should I park? if there in no parking, is there a taxi/shuttle service that you can pre-book to be at your house at a specific time? One last question, is there a Tims (coffee is a must)at the airport? and is it located once you get past US customs? Thanks

There is parking now at the airport, it has eased up. Valupark is a good value if you are watching the pocket book more than the business traveller.

There is no Tim's past US customs, just a little but extremly busy coffee stand. I would recommend picking up coffee before arriving at the airport and drinking it before customs (they'll make you dispose of it.)

If you've never flown out of YEG, it would be wonderful to see your comments around the location of it. You talked already about parking (and the fact that leaving your car out there will cost you X dollars, with the alternate being a major cab bill). If the airport was closer, there would have been a much greater chance that public transport could have reached it (IE a train, such as in London) or even that a relation could have dropped you off. Please do post your thoughts on your experience (and the cumulative effect of millions of passengers having to do the same thing each year) once you get back.

VERY impressive numbers! Has anyone broken down exactly why and how these number are up so much?

There has been lots of speculation, but I'd love for someone in the know to share their analysis.

- Have there been a significant number of flight increases?
- Is it Calgary overflow as someone suggested (and others strongly refuted)?
- Have they adopted the new counting method earlier than expected (someone had mentioned they were moving to a more standard method starting April 1st)?

Great numbers. Edmonton is once again benefiting from the economy as well as well as playing some catch up from years of no growth.
