so this is what i've been able to glean from skimming through the thread as far as possible page 1 updates. please let me know if i've missed anything, or if you can confirm either of the open issues.

page 1 changes:

- 10 east delware - new rendering, moved to site prep

- trio - height figure of 235'

- momo - topped out

- 30 west erie - topped out

open issues:

- catalyst - new proejct with rendering - would someone please add to emporis?

- 353 n clark - is it officially under construction?

- 150 east ontario - is it in site prep?

Its possible. I can see the site from my balcony, and got an up close look the other night, but I didn't see it. There are concrete trucks on site today, but it still looks like the caisson rig hasn't moved much, if at all. What picture are you referring to?

Does anyone have any information on a project at 1330 Michigan Ave?
I saw prints out and know of two companies that were bidding it but it disappeared from there.

Just "east" of Park View West and its craine there is another craine. Is this for the park/garage?

i can see the site from my balcony too, but the western portion is blocked by the hotel across the street, so that's why i didn't know if it had actually started or not. you're in MC east tower, are you not? if so, you can probably see more of the site than i can from MC west tower.

speaking of which, now that i'm officially moved in, we gotta have that beer together.

first off, what's a "craine"?

but yes, that second tower crane is for the large underground parking structure that will be topped with the new park.

I walked by the site on my way out today, and a caisson hole had been drilled. They were lowering a guy in a cage down into it while I was going by (didn't have my camera). The hole in question is on the very south side of the lot, near the center right up against that wall, so it was blocked by the wall when viewed from my balcony. I almost didn't even see it when right there on foot. I only knew where it was since they were lowering that guy into it. It seemed like he was doing the inspection so they could start filling it with concrete, as there were multiple trucks there. I didn't notice any rebar cages though, but the site is loaded with equipment and I was in a hurry.

They wouldn't be doing any tunnel inspection here, right?

Hey are there plans for another Chicago forumer meet-up any time soon? Seeing as the weather is getting better, I think it's high time to get together. Plus for me personally, I've been a part of the forums for a while but have yet to meet anyone else in here and I would love a chance to do so.

I added Catalyst last night (294778), and changed the old version of 618-630 West Washington to "never built". (It's the same site.) I'm comfortable changing 353 North Clark to u.c.; I walked by yesterday and got a photo of the single caisson top. It's on the south side of the site, and you can see it from Upper Carroll Street.

good show dan, thanks for the info, and double thanks for making me aware that the catalyst site is the same as that of the now defunct 618-630 w washington project.

we will have another actual forum meet just as soon as any one of us gets off our ass and organizes it. that's really all there is to it.

in the meantime, if you just want to hangout and talk chicago development with SSP people in real life, you can always come down to a CBP meeting, held every other thursday in the original billygoat @ 8:30pm.

Ok - now that I know it's the same site as the previous 618-630 Washington proposal, I'm very disappointed with Catalyst. That was such a better project in so many ways...

Walton on the Park - Currently, they are just selling the south tower. The sales center has now been open for about 2 weeks are so. I wsa told that they are nearly 30% sold on the first building. As to the rendering on the previous, to put it kindly, the developers and architect need to go back to the drawing board. It's nasty looking and to damn linear.

Fantastic news that there will be townhomes fronting the street in the podium of Walton on the Park. Did they alter the design of the podium slightly? (perhaps just the windows)? I could be wrong but that's the
feeling I got when I looked at the most recent rendering (could have been in an advertisement). It sounds as if sales are off to a half-decent start. June or July - wow, didn't think construction would start that soon...

Encouraging news regarding the next 2 towers fronting Roosevelt at Museum Park - obviously about the height, but imo also about spacing the western two a little further apart. Don't get me wrong - I love a good 'wall' effect just as much as the next guy, but from the first time I saw a rendering with both OMP and OMPW, I thought they could use just a bit more breathing room...

10 E Delaware is the JEWEL of the Gold Coast.

I dont mind it really but I am biased to my street and canyon, Delaware Pl. I love it. Off topic, but Chicago has been BEAUTIFUL the last few days. I was jogging Wells street in Old Town and it seem like half the neighborhood was jogging to.

You know, I'm starting to think there's something really wrong with me.
Because I like 10 E. Delaware. I do!

Now I know that the devil is in the details of the implementation, and that if it's painted concrete it could look like crap. But I like traditionally styled residential buildings, I like Greenwich Village and the Gold Coast, and I like this.

Would I prefer that this building had been built in 1927 with limestone masonry? Of course. But it wasn't, and I don't think that makes it a bad design for today, that that type of building is gone and it's nothing but glass from here on out.

It seems like I'm supposed to hate it, but I hope it turns out.
