I am going to have to disagree with the praise for those "fantasy" renderings

they seem like imitation helmut jahn from the late 80's and a reddish version of the Northwestern Memorial late nineties designs

as for saying nothing interesting like them is being constructed is like being in the middle of the 60's and complaining that interesting music like jack benny isn't being played on the radio

They remind me of Optima. The second one especially resembles a taller Old Orchard Woods in Skokie.

I think someone mentioned a day or two ago that this is probably where the Quadrangle Tower will be.

This is one reason why I am concerned about the K-Station development. Fifield isn't known for their quality designs. Plus I have a feeling that P/H will be designing all the towers. P/H have done nice designs recently, but I must say that they have done more bad designs than good...

I have heard from a realible source that 353 N. Clark should be underway this month. There is a shortage of caisson equipment for the larger jobs, and the start of this one has been pushed back to the 15th, perhaps later if delays occur at other sites.

It is the Quadrangle devolopment, its been on the first page for quite a while with no action so I just assumed it was dead in the water, maybe not

0 feet. I laid out the Grant Park under ground bathrooms and we had to put caisons in. Just depends on how shaky the ground is.

I have to say "yuck" on this one. This is not the urbane LaGrange modern that I was expecting. They seem to be leaning in the kitchy direction started by X/O rather than moving into clean modernism like Erie on the Park.

I personally really like the red on MPP (who cares if they used red in the 80s? There are only so many colors in the world), but I don't like it on this building. It looks like a very random addition. And those trapezoidal window openings?

Just got back from the sales center. This was formely called OPUS 110 but they got sued by a small marketing company in Minnesota. I did not get an exact sales % but they said that they were delayed by permits and issues with underground tunnels running beneath the site. So he said that construction should begin anytime, lets hope!

Who owns the parking losts surrounding the Red line stop at Chicago Av.? They seriously need TOD there.
