http://cinematreasures.org/theater/6361/

There's an example of a movie theater converted into a pool, although this example is of a 2 screen theater, Pacific is 5 isnt it?

Or how about a multi-use facility that has tremendous function, http://www.worthingtoday.co.uk/mk4custompages/custompage.aspx?sectionid=9768 Pool, cinema, and a cinema lounge bar.

There must be a law, or strong support against alcohol being served at Saskatoon cinemas? Galaxy should have had a lounge upstairs, they still have the option I suppose.

I'm kind of drawing blanks on potential new uses for the Pacific. I've been in night clubs that were former cinemas; I'm not sure if Saskatoon is big enough for one of that size, though the location is certainly right. The pool/health club idea is intriguing. Any other ideas out there?

That would bother me much less than the 300 acre parking lot Walmart.

Meridian has released most of the details on the Hideaway project on 11th St.

Nothing new on MOB

I like how they have residential units above the garages in the back alley. I'd like that to be a permitted land use through out the core neighbourhoods.

I believe there's a new phrase people are using. i.e.- "This train is moving at a Saskatoon pace."

Can anyone find the renderings of the new Place Riel expansion at the U of S? That has been needed for years.

Speaking from an outsiders' perspective, I have to admit the rivers and the bridges are beautiful. The new developing areas are pretty nice, as is the University.

...but is that one ugly "downtown" you guys have. Any chance of getting some of the skyscrapers Regina has?

Sure no problem we'll zip down to Regina this weekend and pick up a few. Do you have any in particular that you want use to bring back?

I've always liked the Sask Power building, so why don't you pick up that one. Not sure where we'd put it, but I'm certain we can work something out.

You guys can have this one if you want, or this. We'd be glad to give them to you

I noticed a couple of Dominion construction trailers at 20th and Ave K. This is what is supposedly going up in the lot:

More info

It's different looking, I'll give it that. Not sure if I like it or not. I do like the overriding concept, sort of a new approach to some of the long standing social issues that plague the area.

That whole stretch of 20th right up to Avenue P has a lot of character and by extension a lot of potential. If this project works as planned it could go some distance in cleaning up the area. It'll be one to watch

I like the look. Looks like something you would see in Vacouver.

I love the concept and as far as design goes it will add alot to the area. I'm very excited about this. Its no 40 storey office tower but i think it will do so much for that side of town. l
