Canadian Architect magazine has given an Award of Merit to HIP Architects/David Murray Architect of Edmonton for the Ukrainian Canadian Archives & Museum of Alberta. Congrats.
True, but this can be said for the majority of cities since the majority of workers do live in the suburbs. The only ones who rarely complain about the commute are those who have a stellar transit system or live in or a stones throw from downtown.

^I would fit into that category. I've spent the last decade always living within a 30 minute walk of work. It just fits into the life I want. I've lived as close as 10 minutes, but 20-30 is the best. I personally can't think of anything to beat the 30 minutes of unwind time after a crappy day of work. You see the people in traffic and go at your own pace. Improve the streetscape down 102nd and 103rd and build an urban park along the way somewhere around that vacant Boston Pizza area and suddenly Railtown is a unbelievably great place to live.
Edmonton spoiled me, being able to walk straight down 100th Avenue and then along the Promenade on the River Valley. Best commute I've had anywhere.
What's First City all about?? is that next to old BMO building?? What's happening where their tearing down the old shoe store building on jasper and 110 st?
I think I'm gonna look at buying into the Aurora project when it eventually starts selling. I would love to move downtown. So I think I am going to.
I work with a company who has an office building downtown and I heard a rumor floating around that they might be looking at building a new office tower downtown at some time in the next 2-3 years. They need more space and their companies are scattered all over the Edmonton and Alberta Region. Now, this is just a rumor and I don't know if maybe they meant a new building in Sherwood Park or St. Albert, but this is what I heard. But keep everything open and listen(Hint: NOT Epcor)
