Some of you may enjoy this site: https://isometric.nyc/

View NYC as if it were a SIM City-style map.

NEW YORK | 460 Park | FT | FL

The new facade is going to look much better.

The structure will be cut down to its original steel bones and its current facade redesigned with floor-to-ceiling windows.

This was hideous.

I agree. I would have preferred a new tower, but this new facade will look 1,000% better than what we currently have.

NEW YORK | 673-675 Fifth Ave | Ft | Fl

673-675 Fifth Ave, which have been empty for a long time, and 1 E 53rd Street all have work permits plastered on their windows. This is a prime site for a condo.

Does anyone have any information?

Merged with the NYC Compilation thread as there is nothing linked to potential redevelopment/active proposal. A quick search reveals 673 & 675 Fifth Avenue are currently for lease.

New York Is Relying on Office Conversions to Address Its Housing Crisis

By Arfa Momin , Edison Wu, Mihir Zaveri and Hurubie Meko
New York Times
Aug. 30, 2026

"A New York Times analysis shows that the pace of office-to-residential conversions like the former Pfizer building, where two steel columns buckled in July, has quickened sharply.

When a high-rise project became dangerously unstable last month, prompting the shutdown of two Midtown Manhattan blocks, it revealed just how much the city had come to rely on converting old office buildings to deal with its housing shortage.

So far this year, the city has issued permits for 74 such projects that will create roughly 10,100 new homes, according to an analysis of city data by The New York Times. That amounts to a third of all of the new housing permitted in the city during that period, showing how quickly New York is embracing residential conversions..."

High-Flying Midtown Office Market Back To Pre-Pandemic Health

There was no summer slowdown for Manhattan's office market, where available space is rapidly dwindling, rents are soaring and Midtown has hit a key milestone...The amount of available office space in Midtown fell to 27.7M SF by the end of the third quarter, matching the figure from March 2020, according to a new Colliers report. It's the first NYC submarket to recover all of the occupancy losses caused by the pandemic...More than 10M SF of leases were signed across the borough, keeping Manhattan's office market on pace for its most active year since 2000...
