As I mentioned upthread, people I know who interacted with her in her years with federal Cons did not have nice things to say.

It’s going to be very, very interesting to see the results of the Abbotsford-Mission by election at the end of the month. Perhaps that’s why Eby is holding off on a general election right now, they want to read the tea leaves after that one.

If I were Eby, I'd want to tread very carefully in the current political climate. On the one hand, the right-wing parties are in disarray and the NDP's popularity has ticked up, albeit slightly. On the other hand, given his own popularity rating and how rapidly things are changing with the independents, he could easily end up on the wrong end of an "Anybody but Eby or Findlay" vote during an election no one really wants at this time.

With respect to CentreBC, CBC is reporting that Peter Milobar, Bruce Banman, Rosalyn Bird, Ian Paton, Elenore Sturko, Áʼa꞉líya Warbus, Teresa Wat and Donegal Wilson are confirmed as the MLAs having joined the party.

In other news, John Rustad has posted the following on his social media:

It is, actually! Elections BC can't register a new party during an election period, which we're in now because of the by-election. And if Eby calls a snap election, then a new party can't be registered either! CentreBC already exists, so they don't have to worry about any sort of registration delays.

Can we expect a post on Facebook Marketplace? "Two for the price of one, buy BC United and get the BC Liberals free!!! Slightly used with some reputational damage. No existing legislative commitments, or active members."

CentreBC is so lucky that Bernier already did the ground work. Dodged a political bullet

Nothing would surprise me at this point.

There's not enough popcorn to keep up with this. From the Western Standard:

Quote:
EXCLUSIVE: Caucus faction tells Findlay to resign Saturday night or husband tape drops
Two sources say the file captures her husband, Surrey South MLA Brent Chapman, speaking in a threatening manner. The Western Standard has not heard the recording.
