We would be, and the fairest way is a vehicle levy proportional to vehicle weight to the fourth power.

In a fair world an F-350 that weighs twice as much as my Model 3 will pay 16x as much as me. You support that right since it's the fairest approach?

I think you have to factor in mileage too.

whatnext still gets to pollute for free though.

Mileage is generally proportional to vehicle weight. Remember I'm all for a carbon tax as well!

On another note, if we have an election, odds we see a funding commitment for the UBC Extension?

Have a feeling we will not see much in the way of funding commitments after the recent budget. People gave John Rustad — for his pie in the sky number crunching. The financial outlook looks absolutely dire....

Think a party that pledges fiscal responsibility while trying to encourage increased resource extraction will win. I hope the BC United can shut down the "reconciliation industry" as it's becoming a huge liability for our province.

I agree that's the fairest way. Problem is we could quickly see groups like developers/builders looking for exemptions for those damn tandem dump trucks etc.

BC United is Kevin Falcon and three other board members. It has no legislative presence, and apparently no active website. I don't think it could shut any industry down right now.

Just when you think it couldn't get more bizarre. it's like going back in time when BC was kind of a national joke for its crazy politics.

B.C. Conservative leader Findlay 'not going anywhere' amid private-eye revelations
British Columbia Conservative leader Kerry-Lynne Findlay said Thursday she was "not going anywhere" on another day of tumult for the Opposition, roiled by revelations that a private eye had been hired to look into her critics and calls for her to respond

British Columbia Conservative leader Kerry-Lynne Findlay said Thursday she was "not going anywhere" on another day of tumult for the Opposition, roiled by revelations that a private eye had been hired to look into her critics and calls for her to resign at an overnight caucus meeting.

Lawyer Bruce Hallsor, a King's counsel, said the party's former executive director Elaine Allan had hired the investigator, although Hallsor would not name him or those he investigated.

Allan, who served briefly as executive director of the party until being relieved of her duties last month, did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

But legislators critical of Findlay, including current caucus member Claire Rattée and Brennan Day, who recently quit the party, said they were targeted by the private eye....

If he does it would be just as politically astute as Horgan pulling the trigger when they were up on their COVID response.

So now apparently "Trevor Halford, Claire Rattée and John Rustad are "no longer affiliated" with the B.C. Conservative caucus, according to the Office of the Clerk."

https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/b-c-conservatives-lose-3-more-mlas-9.7349990

So does that mean they lost 3 MLAs today?

- NDP 47
- Conservative 24
- Independent 17
- Green 2
- Vacant 2
- OneBC 1

So now she's kicking people out of her Incredible Shrinking Party?

B.C. Conservatives oust Trevor Halford, John Rustad and Claire Rattée from caucus after calls for Findlay to resign
Skeena MLA Claire Rattée said in a statement that Findlay does not have the authority to do this as she is not an elected representative.

Author of the article: Alec Lazenby
Published Sep 18, 2026

B.C. Conservative Leader Kerry Lynne-Findlay has removed former party leader John Rustad, former interim leader Trevor Halford and Skeena MLA Claire Rattée from caucus, after internal party calls this week for Findlay to resign as leader.

The Office of the Clerk of the legislature confirmed Friday that it had been instructed to remove the three from the list of Conservative MLAs by the B.C. Conservative caucus....

She's clearly on a power trip. Cannot handle any criticism whatsoever. Bodes extremely well for if she was to ever get in power. Stalk/investigate reporters who ask any questions you don't like, kick out anyone who doesn't bow to dear leader
