Another One world option beyond Cathay and JAL.

American Airlines and Taiwan's Starlux Airlines have submitted an application to the U.S.
Department of Transportation for authorization to initiate a codeshare partnership. The joint application requests comprehensive codeshare authority, which would permit American Airlines to utilize its AA code on Starlux-operated flights connecting Taiwan and the U.S., as well as beyond Taiwan. Conversely, Starlux would be authorized to apply its JX code to American-operated flights across the U.S. and to onward destinations.
Additionally, American Airlines is pursuing an amendment to its current third-country codeshare exemption to include Starlux among its roster of foreign airline partners covered by this authority.
If approved, it would signify an advancement beyond the interline partnership established by the airlines in August 2025. As per the most recent DOT application, the proposed codeshare agreement also encompasses operational coordination, necessitating collaborative efforts between the carriers on scheduling to optimize connecting opportunities. Furthermore, it includes reciprocal lounge access for eligible premium passengers through a distinct agreement and integrates frequent-flyer program cooperation.

I won't know for sure. I'll believe it when I see it! We'll find out soon enough.

Hi all,

Here's a picture of terminal 3 North concourse construction. It's coming along nicely! I went to airport today after work. I check it out.

Who is going to use the gates there? Delta seems dominant on the south side of T3, so will United be the principal airline on the north side?

I think United or Alaska will use at the new gates. Who knows? I think Westjet will move to terminal 3. So IDK.

Anyone know if they'll be building a Lounge as part of this? A Delta or new United Lounge would be nice, or maybe Chase Sapphire Lounge.

American is going to take some of the gates. They need to clear out the B/international gates for upgrades. This is why the walkway will exist between T3 and T4.

No, unfortunately not, they won't be connecting walkway T3-T4. I think Alaska Air will have new a lounge at T3N2.

When the timeline for construction was moved up by three years, it was announced the connector between T3-T4 was no longer viable and saves $400-$500 million which can be used for other projects. It’s also an extremely safe assumption AA is moving into the new terminal in phases. Which also reconfirmed the connector is no longer needed.

I always thought the walkway between the terminals was kind of silly since few people connect between different airlines. I'm not clear about the relationship to American, though. Is AA moving eventually moving out of T4 into a new terminal? I didn't think they ever planned on going to T3, but maybe I missed something.

That's exactly what they said. I knows that I saw a comments on Facebook PHX Sky Harbor Airport page. So yeah, they won't have connector between T3-T4. You'll have to leave from the concourse and go on PHX SkyTrain to the terminal 3 and re-enter T3 security checkpoint.

If AA is in T3 and T4 - this is going to be pretty confusing. Hopefully they don't schedule flight transfers between terminals. IIRC - that is why the walkway was proposed so AA could do just that. But yeah, $500M for that is a bit much.

T3N2 is meant to help relieve space in T3 & T4, the bridge between the two would help with AS-AA passengers connecting between the two. The airport announced due to construction starting three years earlier than planned, the connector was no longer required. There are strong rumblings that AA is moving into the new West Terminal in phases, it was also mentioned either DL/UA would move into the vacated concourses AA would leave from T4.

T4 Intl Concourse and adjacent concourse will both be demolished and merged into one larger Intl Concourse, this will be the main Intl arrivals, however there will also be customs in the upcoming West Terminal where AA will operate. Per skyharbor.com master plan.

Could've sworn the west terminal was going to be the new international terminal. But a rebuild of T4 North makes sense -- I think it would make sense for DL to move there since they already have 3 partners flying to T4 (Aeromexico, Air France and China Airlines), useful for at least landside services like lounge access and for irrops. United & Air Canada are both already in T3, then the other ULCC can expand/keep occupying T3S where DL used to be.

FIS will be in both West Terminal and T4, but T4 will be the main international terminal once both B concourse are demolished and merged into one.

Makes sense to me! I don't believe it! Do you think Delta will moved to T4? I knew they used at T3 for nearly five decades now. I think Sky Club or Delta One will be there. Could be focus city or a new PHX hub? That's my guess! We'll find out soon enough.

I don’t think DL would make PHX a focus city with SLC so close and their attempt to make Austin a focus city but who knows.
