Not sure how you put East Wharf above the Museum Docks. It's small and catches garbage. Same with Dow's Lake.

Scores high on location location location. And garbage or no, the water testing at both East Wharf and Hull has been stellar so far.

Best spots to swim and Petrie Island isn't mentioned at all? Seems like an incomplete list at best. Orleans best kept secret maybe?

Before anyone comes at me about water quality any spot downriver from downtown is certainly to have that challenge. On the other hand Petrie has two beaches that are huge, washrooms, change facilities, lifeguards, tons of parking (paid) and an abundance of nature trails. You can rent kayaks too.

I guess in The Citizen's & Lynn Saxburg's eyes nothing exists east of Rockcliffe.

Tbf, the list is " urban-swimming spots". Not sure I'd qualify Petrie's Island as urban. Could be the argument for not including Aylmer and Mousette, but then again, you could make an argument for removing a few that are on the list for not being particularly urban.

Also missing Parc Moussette, which is a hidden gem as far as I'm concerned, and the Petries.

Why is Aylmer horrible for swimming? The fenced off area is huge, the depth is perfect, the water is upstream of the city, there are two life guards, the sand is perfect. We swim there all summer long.

Moussette is the most urban beach in the metropolitan area.

The depth is perfect for children and people afraid of the water. It's not much more than knee deep for like ten miles out into Lac Deschenes. I need deep water for my watery stuff, and the only way to get it at Aylmer is to go out of bounds and contend with douchebags on jetskis and boats.

And the rocks. The rocks. The damn rocks. Everywhere rocks. Rocks rocks rocks rocks rocks.

I don't usually swim in the sand, but yes, it has good sand.

All of the beaches have lifeguards, so that's a wash in the rankings.

Ahh ok. It's five feet deep at the barrier which is fine for my watery needs. Not sure why you find it rocky, there's some pebbles here and there but no large or sharp rocks.

I find it rocky because my toes and knees manage to find every friggin' rock inside the buoys, and there are a lot of the bastards, and they are sharp.
