To me it’s okay, but not something that holds much excitement. Other than adding housing, I don’t see it as a big improvement for the area. IMHO it actually detracts a little from the Sullivan’s Pond/Shubenacadie Canal setting, but it’s probably not something that would occur to most people. So a good addition I suppose, for most.
Austenvlle area in Dartmouth is not too commonly known, but still lives on in the Austenville Owls Club. The area has also been known as Slabtown. It’s interesting that the block of both Victoria Road and Maple street north of Ochterloney did not open to traffic until 1900 when the bedrock on those blocks was lowered by about 6 feet.
