Do you know when the “flower and tree” street grid was built? I think the house that I spent many years in was built sometime in the early 1900s, but have never really read a comprehensive history on the area.
I’ve been reading the ‘Story of Dartmouth’ by John P Martin, published in 1957, covers from 1749 to 1920, I was gifted it around 2000,bought from Fisher’s Stationary. Some of the early tree street houses were East of Maple and around Rose Tulip. Thanks for that. I’ll keep my eyes open for a copy that isn’t at collector prices. The library apparently has a 1981 reprint “on order” that isn’t for library only (reference copy) use, so I’ve put a hold on it and we’ll see what happens. Appreciate the tip!

My old house isn’t on the list, but some that were around me are. They are late 1800s, and I recall that they were more the ‘decorative box’ (my own term ) style, whereas my old house looked to be more like a Craftsman style, though I don’t know if that exact style made it here. Anyhow, it was cool to grow up in such an interesting neighbourhood!
