I wonder who owns the parking lot to the east of the old station? If it was being used for RCMP staff parking there are actually TWO substantially sized lots to do something with. Seen in their Waterfront District ideas.

However; a reminder that the Spataro outfit had big plans for the property bordered by Lewis/Steadman/Queen and they've thus far not deemed it viable?

Lafford indeed would be ideal. But please go higher than 14 or 18 storeys

We've spoken about the RCMP property on the forums before, and finally the time has come. Looking at the PAOL property map, there are three small abutting parcels south of the property. They likely will be incorporated creating a rectangular piece of land to work with.

That parking lot to the east is intriguing. If it could be added, there'd be a much larger footprint to work with that could easily accommodate two towers. I think Mr. Lafford would be an excellent choice as the developer.

I really hope that we see a significant building here, especially since this is the eastern "gateway" into the downtown core. Another calamity like we saw with the tomato building would be tragic. Building a 6 floor box here would be completely unacceptable.

If ICON builds their 30 floor Infinity tower, something in the range of 20 storeys here would make a nice complimentary development. This whole area has a lot of undeveloped land, and some day we could see a nice cluster of large buildings.

It'll be an interesting file for us to follow!

The city should really punish purchase of land in notable locations and leaving it undeveloped/as parking lot. They should also incentivize developments of more than 6 floors. Pipe dream I know but the endless 6 storeys are getting monotonous. I understand you can develop a good city atmosphere with just 6 floors, but it would be nice to have some vertical growth in the downtown core.

This will give an excellent view of Infinity as construction progresses over the next several years.

Looking at this it looks like there is a mini tower crane now up at 45 Lewis St. Hopefully we will get to see some more going up soon at 20 Cameron St and St. Bernard Square

They are now working on the second floor at 45 Lewis St. It looks like there using wood the rest of the way up.

Only fear is we don't know anything other than 5 floors.. I hope it won't have some awful siding or weird colours. Im curious if tur ground flood will be parking or have some commercial elements.
