They have now done a traffic shift to the south side over the new culvert while heavy equipment works on the culvert north end east of White Oaks Rd.

Bradley Ave east of White Oaks will be closing for a short while as they continue to work on the new culvert. Crews are back at work on the new section of Bradley with utility installations underway.

They have started pouring the concrete curbs and sidewalks on the west side of White Oaks Rd as well as grading the road base. For some reason they haven't poured the west bound side curbs or sidewalk on the east of White Oaks Rd yet.

Any sane person would assume that work on extending Bradley further west to connect with Pack Road would start as soon as the current extension is done. That would make this extension far more useful, provide an alternate to Southdale, providing relief for that road.

Hopefully this turns into an election issue and it's fast tracked. Unlike other construction projects, this wouldn't really cause a disruption since it's a new build. It would also allow Southdale to be widened without too much disruption.

Why has Bradley been built in a piecemeal fashion?

Why are there two Huron streets, when they will never be connected? Likewise for Adelaide Street? It is weird when street names up and die, only to be reborn again "down the road". A great many cities do this...I suppose at one point in time, the plan was to link the disparate parts together.

Those two streets have environmentally sensitive areas between them and will likely never be connected.

A Bradley to Pack connection does not have such restrictions.

Paving of the base coat of asphalt began yesterday between White Oak Road and Paulpeel Avenue. Curbs are also nearing completion up to Wharncliffe Road.

Closure of White Oak Road expected next week for two weeks for watermain tie in.

Still expecting end of September for extension opening.

This thread is 10 years old, remember commenting on this in 2016. Glad the end of this very long tunnel is within sight and will be a significant addition to help east-west traffic in the south end. Unfortunately that separate right turn lanes weren't put at White Oak or Wharncliffe Rd as this will cause congestion and bottlenecks at the intersections

They still have heavy equipment working the banks of the drain on the north side of the culvert east of White Oaks Rd. Still no sidewalk along that section of Bradley has been poured.
