This proposal for townhouse project at 2496 Dundas St E which is east of Crumlin has caught the eye of the Airport Authority which is highlighting their concern about converting light industrial zoning near the airport being converted to residential and the impact on future airport growth.

A mix of 3-storey standard and back-to-back cluster townhomes with 73 units in total is being proposed on now vacant land zoned as light industrial.

While I get the airport's concern that more people in the area means more noise complaints, their issue with proximity to the airport regarding future development is BS. This plot is west of a residential street, Kostis Ave, and also being a Dundas address means it is south of the CPR rail line. There is no airport development going to be happening here.

The framers have been making progress building the ground floor walls of the townhouse fronting Fanshawe Rd at Stackhouse. Looks like they have finished the foundation footings of the other townhouse block.

Proposal for 28 townhouses is now up for sale due to housing slowdown.

Two sites at 553-557 Upper Queen St. are for sale for $3.3 million combined as one of the owners questions whether too many homes are hitting what is a soft real estate market.
