Interesting move with Kingsett taking a 50% stake in CF Masonville Mall. The article suggests that they are pulling away from building residential on their mall properties and they just sold Westmount Mall to the Landlord.
I wonder if the proposed apartment buildings for Masonville Mall are now dead?
Potentially, but at the same time maybe not as that article you linked mentions that KingSett also owns Ottawa's Bayshore Shopping Centre and the Burlington Centre Mall, both of which have had very recent proposals for residential redevelopments over vacant portions of their property.
Most similar would be the Burlington Centre Mall redevelopment proposal which intends to replace the space that their Hudson's Bay store took, which is the #1 issue that Masonville Place needs to figure out presently.
This is not redevelopment related but Masonville Place once again ranks as one of the top malls in the country for sales per square foot at #11. I hope The Bay space is redeveloped into some new to market stores for the city.
