I agree but not even YHM got a tease like this. It was just dropped the day of. It must be an aircraft order. A PD XLR order is a personal dream of mine but before they opt in for the E190? They mentioned when announcing the purchase of the E195 they were looking into the smaller variant for increased frequencies and launching thinner routes (YOW-PHX coming back?). This is the best I can come up with with this little big announcement marketing.

Thus far the YYC-YOW red-eye has been cancelled and in turn the 0720 YYC departure tomorrow (uses red-eye frame).

Interestingly, the YYC-YOW RON has not been cancelled, but the YYZ-YOW has. However, the afternoon YYZ-YOW ran but the return was cancelled. The morning YYC and YYZs that use the RONs have not, so I guess the plan is keep the frame that did YYZ-YOW here and have it run tomorrow morning's YOW-YYZ if the strike is averted. So as of me writing this, WS would have two frames positioned at YOW if a work stoppage takes place.

Edit: spoke too soon, the morning flights have been cancelled. But the YYC-YOW RON hasn't yet, so still would be two frames at YOW as it stands.

Today’s departure count: 84 - including a 5T charter to Greenland via YYZ: 5T 6200 YOW-YYZ-SFJ (SFJ = Kangerlussuaq = former primary airport in Greenland). Until 2001 7F had a weekly YOW-YFB-SFJ 727. Also almost unheard of is two 5T aircraft at the terminal simultaneously with the usual 5T 101to YFB on gate 15 and the 5T 6200 charter on 16.

Today's cancellation count (so far): 10 - including 2 non-WS with AC

YOW and YUL are about the least affected airports by this strike. For example at YWG 23 of 65 departures today from the terminal (Perimeter have their own terminal at YWG) are cancelled - all WS. At YHZ, over the next 24 hours (1100 to 1100 as YHZ’s FIDS are rolling), 24 of 89 departures are cancelled. Next 24 hours at YEG 36 of 116 are cancelled - all WS for all three airports.

Tentative agreement reached. As of now, the 1615 YYC departure is not cancelled and would be using one of the planes WS positioned at YOW. The afternoon YYZ-YOW-YYZ round trip is also currently scheduled to run. The other aircraft they left here would likely run YOW-YYZ tomorrow morning as this evening's YYZ-YOW RON has already been cancelled.

PD's MCO service is back to 3x weekly with the Monday afternoon flight resuming. The two WS flights indeed operated as scheduled today and tomorrow morning's YYZ is scheduled to operate with the remaining frame that was parked here during the strike.

AF328 stopped it's climb just before reaching the English Channel and is returning to CDG.

Yesterday for the third day in a row AC 1967 the late evening YYZ departure scheduled for 2205 has departed past 0030!

Also of note for today:
- Gate 3 has reopened
- AF 328 is inbound really late at 1825. Looks like AF 327 is going to be replaced by AF 4081 at 2020. AF 327 is not cxx on the FIDS yet but has no gate assigned to it. Equipment is showing as the usual 772.

AC889/888 are on the Olympic 'Fly the Flag' livery today.

Also noticed that YOW-YYT is back up to 11x weekly in August. Aircraft does YOW-YYT-YOW-YDF-YOW days x256 for the month.

Cool. Never knew about that one. Lots of nostalgia in that one video - Cargojet 727, First Air's name still on the hangar and on the 737-400, an AC 319 and a DC-3 down by the government hangar.
