What's funny is after all of Nikko's complaining, Montreal was more than a full degree above the 30 year average in June. Now, of course there is more to weather than just the temperature, and there was a lot of cloud cover and rain which can make it feel worse.

Most places actually had a nice June, only Calgary and St. John's had a June worthy of complaint regarding temperatures, but even then they weren't terribly off average.

June is Calgary was cold and rainy, so fairly typical for us, we do call it monjune for a reason. Would be interesting to see the July stats, we seem to be fairly well above average with 1 day left, and that should hit at least 30...

I used to do Edmonton, and Regina, and Saskatoon, and Medicine Hat, and Ottawa, and Quebec City, and Moncton, and St. John, and Charlottetown, and Whitehorse, and Iqaluit too, but honestly these graphs barely ever generated a single response or comment when posted, and it takes a lot of time to do so many cities, and my life is quite busy with work and family recently, so I simply shrunk the list down to the cities that personally interested me the most while still getting a base coast to coast reading.

It’s almost as if I’m from BC, and since I’m the one making the graph, the cities and locations that personally interest me the most climatically will be included.

Other people are welcome to do it instead and include the cities that interest them.

Honestly, I don’t need to include any city east of the Rockies if people are this bitchy about someone’s hobby.

Calgary, Montreal and St. John’s are there because they are interesting and forum members from those cities actually interact positively with these graphs from time to time.

Windsor is there because it interests me personally and is a fun rival to many of my BC locations of interest.

Yellowknife is there because it also interests me personally.

As for BC, I was born in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows is the closest weather station to there and is an interesting contrast to YVR to show the difference in conditions across Metro-Van.

Nanaimo is there because my parents live there.

Osoyoos and Ashcroft are there because they are quite famous in the Canadian weather world as the national hot spots and interest me greatly, having spent great amounts of time there in summer trips.

Kelowna, Kamloops and Victoria are there because again, family and direct climatic interest.

July will be out soon, and yeah, from what I have seen July in Calgary has been fantastic and around 2 or 3 degrees above normal.

26C with a humidex of 31. Cloudy start but cleared up throughout the day. Finally! Before that, the last 2 days saw a grand total of maybe 2-3 hrs of sun. Extremely unusual for July.

Low of 20C this morning. Of course it will be a mild morning with the cloud cover.

Edmonton Region will be a mixed bag this weekend. As usual. 29 and 30 thru Saturday the cold and Rainy Sunday then back up Monday.

Heritage Festival, Big Valley Jamboree are this weekend.

Finally get to spend time in my yard in dryer weather.

Its a good time to be in the Garden, All the berry trees are ready to be picked. My Cherry tree is done, Saskatoons are coming to the end and the Haskap berrys are ready now. Cherries are the only ones that will be canned.

I am going to enjoy this holiday weekend whether it kills me or not.

It was meant in jest just due to the odd selection of cities on there. I really don't care whether Edmonton is on it or not, and it was not intended to be a complaint. Sorry if it came across that way.

There is potential for a severe storm in Edmonton tomorrow late afternoon/evening. I saw a post from a storm chaser saying he'll be keeping a particularly close eye on Edmonton Saturday, so that's fun. Just like last Saturday, there will be a big crowd at Commonwealth as the Elks play the Riders and the lower bowl is nearly sold out—there will be 30,000+. If a storm does start making its way over Edmonton, the CFL is very strict about stopping play if there is any lightning within 10 kms of the stadium, so it shouldn't be as chaotic as the Post Malone concert was with little warning and a rush to get out.

Unfortunately, I will miss all this because I'll be camping in the southern Rockies in Blairmore, Alberta where the high will be 35 tomorrow and mid-to-high 20s the rest of the week.

About half way between there and Gull lake, a buddy has a cabin in the area and a bunch of us go out there and camp in the woods around it and throw a big party, should be fun!
