Toronto is pretty much on par with Manhattan now, if you take a similar sized area.

Perhaps on par size-wise... but Manhattan is much more dense with skyscrapers and taller.

I suppose it's to be expected that the New York comparisons will grow more pervasive although these days I hear it more from tourists than locals. I hope Canadians don't fall into their familiar self-deprecating tendencies of dismissing Toronto as just a junior copy of New York. Toronto is very much its own place and developing into a bigger, better version of itself. There are things New York has that Toronto doesn't but the reverse is true too.

NYC is still in its own league, but Toronto-Chicago comparisons are totally legit. I know Toronto's in a bit of a lull at the moment, but development will be blazing again, and it won't be long before Toronto is the undisputed #2 for NA.

Yes it’s been a while and the changes are noticeable. The most noticeable changes are, a busier downtown with people and scooters everywhere and the type of people. It’s a mix of all types compared to the way it used to be. I remember it being mostly business people, and nobody around after hours. Today all kinds of people (including more homeless than I remember). Downtown Calgary and the neighborhoods around it (loved Inglewood) have changed a lot, and for the better. Keep up the good work.

I'm planning a ski trip with my sons out to Sunshine or Lake Louise later this year or early 2027. Need them to experience it. Mont-Tremblant is nice, but doesn't compare.

My cousin works at Big White in BC too.. hmm..

I haven't been out there since early 2001 when this song was popular.

I remember going to Cowboys at the time. Does it still exist?

Yeah the casino is still there and they have a shady deal on the West end of Downtown during Stampede where they take over Millennium Park and terrorize nearby residents all night with endless bass thumping.
