Drove past today and they were tamping the gravel baselayer with the vibrator machine.
Concrete bus pad and curbs are all in place.

I don't know what is preventing them from opening the right turn at Main/Broadway and re-opening the left turn lanes off Main onto Broadway. The final alignments are all there.

I know I already said this but I am a little bit worried by the fact that on main I don't see any tree.
I remember seeing them in the project I really hope this is not a way to cut expenses and time becasue broadway without trees would be very very far from the "great street" plan they had in mind.

Just realized that the new traffic light at 8th and Ash is to support the detour during the Broadway closure for deck removal.

I'm the person who deals with the landscapers for my building, and yes now is the totally wrong time to plant trees. Depending on the temperature they might start doing that in Sept.

Plus there's still construction all over, trees going in will be one of the last steps.

The installation of green infrastructure along the boulevard, as well as street furniture on the newly widened sidewalks will continue through the summer.

Trees are done by the Parks Department, and they have their own schedule that's independent of everything else.

It's wild how we've had so many mayors/councillors promising efficiency yet city departments don't coordinate with each other and operate independently. I know someone setting up a new business in a renovated building in the CoV and they've had the most strung out experience trying to get the required city departments to come do their job for sewer / water / electrical / paving / sidewalks / street trees etc., every department has zero insight or coordination with another. It's probably easier said than done, but if anyone running in October actually wants to make good on an efficiency promise, it's an obvious one to tackle.

They removed the storm water retention tank (?) next to where they paved so I guess they'll paint lines and open the road in the next day or two. There's fencing/workers at the temporary bus stop next to the station so that might get restored right after as well. The bus stop was moved south to the other side of 10th Ave today.

Line painting tonight for the shifted Cambie SB lanes.

Lines painted yesterday on West 8th. Bus lanes were in the middle, not on the sides. That's probably to assist with the tight turns around the side streets?

If the centre lane is stopping short of the intersection to allow the articulated buses to take a right maybe it's just to stop stupid drivers from pulling right up to the intersection?

Lanes look to be more or less finalized on Cambie for the Broadway closure. Centre bus only right turn lanes on Cambie to W 8th and Broadway.
