Fantastic! Great to see the building fill up. Now if only TV's building would get some tenants. I wonder if the rent is crazy expensive.

Here's what is being proposed where the house at the corner of Wellington and Wardlaw was recently demolished.

17 unit, 4 story building. I think it looks pretty good.

If I'm reading this report right, it looks like the vacant commercial unit at 437 Stradbrook Ave (former Tweed) has been conditionally leased.

It could also be the vacant unit between Pinky's Bakeshop and Subway that has been conditionally leased.

I just really wish something would go into the old Into The Music. It has a very prominent location right on the main strip. Even if they just took down the Into The Music sign above the door that would be better. I see a lot of people try to go into the store thinking that it's still open, only to discover that it's permanently closed.

Such an odd situation for such a high profile location if this is in fact the case.

Not sure exactly how it works, but I hate seeing it be a waste of space in such a good location.

That will be the 2nd one in Winnipeg.

There is one out my way that I have never been in located near Regent Ave W. and Hwy 59 in the new building that replaced the Royal Forks.

I’ve been to Boustan a couple of times. It’s quite good actually for fast middle eastern food. Much better than a place like Osmow’s.

Former Tokyo Smoke.

The old Tweed (and TD before that) is on Osborne and is now an indoor golf simulator, I think?

This "dental office" has to be some sort of weird tax dodge, how does it make any sense to spend like 5+ years leasing an expensive place and renovating it at a snail's pace

Yes, that's right. 437 Stradbrook is the former Tokyo Smoke.

Yeah the former Tweed on Osborne is now a golf simulator.

It would be great to finally see this lot developed. A boutique hotel would be ideal, though a mixed-use residential development would also be a good option.

A boutique/"compact luxury" hotel (CitizenM, Moxy, Aloft, Alt, etc) would slay in the Village.

Already one of the only continuous high streets in the city, lots of amenities and restaurants nearby, it would be great for the local shops... and that format tends to have limited parking because they target tourists who will walk/bus/uber during their visit, so the compact site wouldn't necessarily be a problem...

Looks like a 1-story commercial building was approved for 784 Corydon Ave (at the corner of Corydon and Arbuthnot where that old building was knocked down).

Description: To vary the "C2 PDO-1 Corydon Osborne PDO-1 Neighbourhood Main Streets" Development and Design Standards of Winnipeg Zoning By-Law No. 200/2006 for the construction of a commercial building to permit minimum height of 15 feet (4.57 metres) instead of 20 feet (6.10 metres).
