City Market on Granville and Broadway opens June 28th. I don't know runs their socials but the visuals and stuff they use are awful, looks very amazteur and it makes me question if its really their page or not, it looks very scammy and the last few weeks the posts have looked really cheap and lacking any real information, but now it says they will open June 28th, so perhaps its real.

The sign on the window last week said Grand Opening 8am January 26th. Vancouver is Awesome printed the same date two days ago. It's possible they've had to push it back a couple of days, so have had to throw something up quickly.

I think all the CityMarket/No Frills-type stores that are "owner operated" and their social media.

Nah.. they have a lot of followers on socials and have had a lot of giveaways and funny posts. I think it's a City Market thing... Dave at The Post has been active on Socials since before that store opened.

FYI - they open on the 26th... confirmed via their socials.

Ron.

ah I wasn't sure, I was going from memory.

In other retail news SportChek at Lougheed Mall is closing, last days in July I read. A person who commented on the post said they were told that that location is having staffing issues and that's why they are closing. It never looks busy, its a big space to fill, that poor mall is always full of people who don't go in the stores.

I worry for the future, retail has it tough as people live and shop on the internet, and we are running out of places to just hang out and "don't go in the stores". I wonder what things will look like in a decade?
