The Bank of Canada inflation calculator has 3 cents in 1914 equivalent to 83 cents in today's dollars at 2,665 percent inflation between then and now. It also calculates that 5 present day dollars is equivalent to the purchasing power of 18 cents in 1914, so perhaps it might be reasonable to get a lunch for perhaps between 8 and 15 cents, considering such lunches would likely be something simple that could be produced daily for many employees such as a bowl of soup with a chunk of bread.

That's assuming the company didn't subsidize the food service. They might be eating very well indeed.

City has started installing the new road curbs on the north side of the under construction LTC Home. Hopefully we see it paved in the coming weeks.

This extends Gleeson St to the west to connect to McCormick Blvd.

Old plans had a block of townhouses going in on the north side of Gleeson on the open land there.

The city has paved just the west half of Gleason St where they had installed the curbs. The east half still has no concrete curbs poured. Progress on the LTC home exterior finishing has slowed. Still installing siding and cladding on the east side.
