IIRC, Shapack offloaded those parcels last year.

I wonder when the taller towers of the complex will start, it'd be cool if they could rise with 400LSD's twin.

Since this is Chicago I'll get more excited at 250 or 350 meters and up. Someday...

YIMBY Chicago with a fresh photo gallery: https://chicagoyimby.com/2026/04/photogr...-work-is-underway-at-halsted-pointe.html

I thought this shot was beautifully composed. Bally's core looks close to T/O.

^ Whoa, seriously beautiful shot. Digging how the Bally's tower handled its curves, with lots of narrow flat windows arranged tightly together. Really helps emphasize each vertical crease.

IMO this is a better solution than curved glass (expensive, weird reflections, never quite matches) or wider flat panels (messes up the curves)

Don't forget Foundry Park, the Salvation Army redevelopment, and Ishbia's 14th St railyard redevelopment. Didn't think that'd get redeveloped for another 30 years, and yet Amtrak is leaving later this year. That's ~30k units in the central area!

Most of these projects aren't well connected to our transit system, even though they're all directly adjacent to Metra lines. To handle these 45-60k new residents, it's actually important Metra speeds up regional rail on major lines. I don't see that being physically possible without through-running, and unfortunately CN is refusing to sell the SCAL for Amtrak/Metra through-running. I also don't know the Illinois Legislature's appetite in investing in a new downtown tunnel. The only other option in the short-term is to add dozens of miles of bus lanes in the central area but the city is too scared to piss off drivers.

Yes good points. Might as add JDL's North Union (Moody Bible) Development too.

So:

Fulton Market
Kingsbury
Casino
Halsted Point
United Center
Salvation Army
North Union
Foundry Park
Ishbia Yards

With a bit more demand things are ready to pop off.

I can't wait to see this go up on my ride on the UP-N! I have much of Bally's being built photographed as I'll ALWAYS stand/sit pointing towards skyline unless it's just not avaliable.

931 North Halsted Street. 46 floors, 501 ft. It is directly on Halsted at the northwestern most point of the development.

Halsted Landing, a partner project to this one, just across the river at 700 W Chicago, is supposed to start construction after Halsted Point is completed, and Halsted Landing is supposed to start construction in 2029. So that implies that this project would be completed by 2029, though that sounds like a rather optimistic timeline to me

Yeah there's no way they're financing and completing five residential high-rises, a mid-rise hotel and all of the associated infrastructure within the next three years.
