To be honest, the high-rise residential tower portion of this building(1072 West Peachtree) is quite similar in style to the previously canceled Opus Place project, but the lower office building section and the parking deck levels are an absolute massive failure. The design is not only tacky and ugly, but the materials also feel very disjointed and lack overall stylistic unity—this is a problem that pretty much anyone with knowledge of architecture can spot at a glance. Frankly, I don't quite understand the taste and the thought process of the developer and the architect. It feels like this project is kind of a waste of money and just throwing cash away.

Agreed. An all glass podium (along the street) would have looked much, much better. The final office component is giving me circa 2000 GA 400 office park.

If this had a lighting scheme, do you think it would be on by now?

No. The building is still under construction and its facade isn't quite complete. They actually have phased building plans for projects like this, so we can relax and enjoy the progress.

Unhappy

This forum never ceases to make me laugh. Half the people on here are crying about the height of buildings. When they finally get one tall they pick it apart - now I know a few of you are actually architects and know what you're talking about, but the rest of you are just hilarious

It makes a nice impact on the skyline. I can see it in my backyard. Pretty cool

Despite the name of the site, not all of us are fans of skyscrapers in particular. (i.e.: me)

"People-oriented Development Page" just doesn't have the same ring to it.

For sure - I find your posts usually to be insightful

More talking about the people that just sit here and cry about not having tall buildings but once they get one they just hate it instantly. It's like they can't ever be happy lol

Thanks for the compliment— Sometimes I feel a bit like I'm screaming into the void

Yeah, I don’t get what they did on the top with leaving those machines exposed.

That glass sheet looks like malicious compliance to meet the requirement of hiding HVAC units from the street. Couldn't spend one extra dime to make it look like a complete crown

At least if it works out financially, it proves Midtown is ready for projects of this scale. Maybe we'll get a better one next cycle.
