There was talk here when it was proposed, but that was years ago.
That's Hall Towers. I used to work for Fraser Health and I had colleagues who regularly went inside (though I never did). On more than one occasion, I've heard of the poorest, sickest, most marginalized Burnaby residents on the brink of eviction turning down a Hall Towers admission because of the reputation it has. It's ghastly.

Burnaby Major Development Projects has it listed as "Second Reading 2023.06.05" and that's for the master plan - not any of the individual buildings (5 towers with land ownership split between the city and BC Housing).

The intersection of Central Boulevard and the Metrotown underground parkade access is one of the busiest pedestrian areas in all of Metro Vancouver. But next month, Burnaby will join Tokyo, New York and London with our very own pedestrian scramble.
Safer, smarter streets are a large part of what makes our city an attractive place to live, work, study, visit and invest in.
Meanwhile, the pedestrian overpass continues to be worked through with the relevant partners. The key points are that the existing dead‑end structure is privately owned – and it no longer connects to the station’s current infrastructure so it must be removed.
But this pedestrian scramble is a critical safety improvement we can deliver right now.
I don't often drive through the smaller streets in Burnaby so I haven't been through the Edmonds east area for a while and had to go through yesterday and was surprised to see so many huge townhouses replacing the older SFH, they are towering over their neighbours, so random and weird.
From that overpass over the highway the tallest building in Brentwood around 2009 was that relatively new condo tower on the corner of Delta/Lougheed Highway (Perspectives at 29 stories)?
