Nice, thanks!

I wonder if any of the precast cladding from the demo'd part could have been used to fill in the gap.

Lexus' new video shows the pit in the same shape but maybe a glimmer of hope from last month? (seems like it was some kind of CNY discount promotion recently)

Quote:
Nine buyers purchased homes at Solhouse 6035 last month, standing out in an environment where 21 sales occurred across the entire concrete high-rise resale market in the Metrotown area.

In today’s market, buyers are thoughtful and selective — which makes this momentum a clear signal of what resonates.

At Solhouse 6035, the retractable balcony glazing systems by Lumon Group transform traditional balconies into protected, year-round living spaces that expand how residents can use their homes, even in Metro Vancouver’s rainy season.

It’s an example in action that thoughtfully designed homes — delivered by a developer with 35 years of trusted experience — outperform even in uncertain markets.

This site has a video showing how the retractable glass balcony system works

Misread that as retractable grass balconies and was very confused (the video did not help).

A lot of these new builds in Burnaby are adopting the indoor-outdoor balconies. Even the ones already under construction.

I'm kinda impressed that the pit hasn't flooded like I've seen happening in other abandoned sites in the metro region.

I didn't notice any water pumps from Lexus' drone view, but then again the Metrotown area doesn't have the type of clay/silt soil type that tends to hold up water.

We can only hope that that project finds the legs to get moving again.

They now seem to be standard for Concord projects in Burnaby, as they've adopted the retracable balconies in all their currently under construction developments at Metrotown (Greenhouse and Concord Metrotown) and at Brentwood (Oasis).

His photo from April shows rain water (?) collecting in some of the deeper sections along the shotcrete wall and in in a small square footing. There is some kind of hose laid down so they probably had some kind of sump pump but obviously it wasn't draining it at the time.

I think I can still make out some hoses in the newer drone video.

Latest on the Peterson project on Dow Avenue

Quote:
A rezoning application has been received to permit a mixed-use high-density
development comprising two high-rise apartment buildings of 45 and 35 storeys
respectively, with commercial fronting Beresford Street, as well as a 6 storey apartment
building. Approximately 1,065 dwelling units are proposed, inclusive of 112 required
rental replacement units. The subject application supersedes Rezoning Reference #18-
49, which proposed a 51-storey mixed-use residential and commercial tower, a 41-
storey apartment tower, and a 6-storey rental building. The new proposal is consistent
with the Burnaby 2050 Official Community Plan land use designations for the site. The
purpose of this report is to provide Council with information on the proposal and to
recommend that the Rezoning Bylaw be brought forward for First and Second Reading
at a future date of Council.
Quote:
While the Zoning Bylaw permits additional storeys through community benefit
bonusing, the applicant is only proposing to utilize the base storeys with height
averaging. Any future increases in storeys beyond the base storeys would
require a rezoning amendment, as additional height beyond what is proposed is
not contemplated in the suitable plan of development.
