Yup we get good rates there , Have been using it as our base for almost as long as its been open. Plus having breakfast there is a thing for us. And its nice, if we don't want to go out for dinner we can make our own and chill on the balcony.

24C with increasing cloud cover. Started out fully sunny then thin clouds arrived but the sun was able to peak through. Finally around 4PM is when it fully clouded over. Temperature remains nice, 19 degrees at 10PM (the warmspot in the country at this hour).

The vegetation is absolutely bonkers with this first warm weather stretch. Trying to play catch up.

As a comparison, the same trees, 4 days ago.

Low of 11C this morning.

The warmspot was Deschambault, QC at 25.1C.

Warmest low was Entrance Island, BC at 11.1C.

Nice day tomorrow then rain on Friday followed by a period of slightly below normal temperatures.

Actually was 13C at midnight as we still had some residual heat from the previous day.

The warmspot was Lytton, BC at 28.2C.

It'll be at least another month before we see foliage like that in Moncton (two months if you are from St. John's).

11C and rain in Moncton at 9 AM. The conditions will remain the same all day. About 25-40 mm of rain expected.

Now's the time of year that Montreal is usually warmer than the GTA, due to less lake influence. But in this case both of our forecasts are pretty 🞵🞵🞵🞵, yours is just slightly better

Hopefully they get some rain shortly after, otherwise we could be in for another doozy of a wildfire season

Beautiful day in Calgary yesterday (22C), and so far today. Leaves coming out on the trees. Not at Vancouver levels, but with lots of warm sunny days in the forecast everything will be green very soon.

Since last year, they've been saying this summer is going to be the hottest on record for Vancouver. I hope that comes with some rain, or yeah, wildfire season is going to be rough.

I'm heading to a beer festival in Port Moody today, and it's going to be 24C. Perfect for an outdoor event, but these early warm temps are going to come at a cost.

SW Ontario has had quite a bit of warm weather (Windsor has 25 days over 18, and a few in the mid 20s already) but they are punctuated by dramatic one or two day cold spells. The back-and-forth is normal for spring, but they have been extreme and frequent. There have been five cycles of 20+ weather followed by a freeze over the past two months. We'll be near freezing again the next two nights.

It seems like Atlantic Canada has had a pretty cold spring, and spring is normally slow there. However, it's not actually that much colder in some places, and the difference between say NL and NS can be bigger than the difference between NS and other parts of Canada (as you go east the spring is slower, so Cape Breton is somewhat later, while the western end of NS is a bit earlier). For example, in Greenwood, NS (the typical Annapolis Valley station), the average April high is +11 and May is +18. So far they only made it up to 10 today.

I calculated the recent normals for Halifax Dockyard and April is only +9.5. The seasonal high around the end of the month is in the 12-13 degree range. But the highs have been hovering around 7 degrees or so for many days now. It doesn't really get the same cold snaps as more continental areas but there's a persistent below normal pattern with very few milder days. It did fall to -1.5 at night on April 22 which is probably a bit unusual but not a huge outlier.

It is often like this with one end of the country being better than normal and the other being below normal.

Metro Vancouver has already banned residents from watering their lawns at all this summer.
