It is about this time of year that Ontario and Québec begins to gloat, BC gets put into its place, Manitoba and Saskatchewan just gets pissed off. Alberta and NS just don't give a —.

Nicko gets mad about below freezing temps.

Funny, I’ve always known the Fatburger was there but never noticed there was an old house right next to it! I wonder how long both will last?

Here in Timmins we still have lots of snow and we're finally getting above freezing days. The ruts on my street are unbelievably bad. Difference of almost a foot where there is ice/snow and where there's isn't. Anyone else out there still have a significant amount of snow on the ground?

Bang on.

9C and mainly cloudy this afternoon.

Low of -2C (wind chill of -3) this morning. It was actually a sunny start to the day so that allowed us to warm up quickly before the clouds started dominating around noon. Not much wind so the sun felt amazing.
Downtown Montreal dipped only to 2C so they potentially have started their growing season already.

The warmspot was Windsor, ON at 26.3C. New highest temperature this year in Canada.

Warmest low yesterday was Pam Rocks, BC at 10.9C.

The gradient in SWO yesterday was insanely sharp. 26 in Windsor, 6 in Toronto!

Today the warm spell begins. Currently 18 and overcast. Some rain earlier this morning. Sun is supposed to go up with a high of 21 today. It's muggy out, as well.

Saw the first stand of trees leafing out today. Have a picture of those same trees from April 12 2024 and they were a bit ahead.

Looks like we get a brief cool down Sunday/Monday next week, then back to above seasonal. We've been a bit below seasonal so far this April, so will be interesting to see where we end up.

Rain all day yesterday, but it was generally welcome as we have been ina moisture deficit ever since early last summer. We got much less snow than usual over the wintertime. Forestry officials are worried about a bad fire season, especially if the el Nino predictions are accurate.

Drove into my office Parkade this morning, Got out of the car and had a goose standing right behind me. We have them on the roof of the parkade but I guess the mail went for a walk. The land lord posted a note on all the doors to watch out.

Weather wise here in YEG it was a great day Saturday, Not bad Sunday but overcast. Today is sunny again. But typical, Rain or Snow on Thursday.

Any snow we had a week ago is pretty much gone now.

I drove 1.5 hours north on Friday and there was still about 2ft of snow in the fields. Be interesting to see how much melted, I have to drive up to CFB Cold Lake tomorrow.

Friday was son nice we got out first Patio Bike and beer ride in.

However I am looking forward to getting to Victoria next week. Need to see some green and smell the ocean. As long as there is no snow in the mountains it should be a nice drive.

11, 7, 2, 0,2, 12, and 12 for this week.

The forecast in the Maritimes isn't that bad. It's mostly double digits and a mix of sun and cloud/rain, which is decent or normal anywhere in the country in April. There's just no giant heatwave.

Kentville, NS is supposed to hit 18 tomorrow, Halifax 16. Fredericton has some 18/19s later in the week.

Man, I'd love that today. We're still getting subzero nights with snow this week. Nothing major, but yeah. Single digit temps during the days.

It was windy this morning, but sunny and beautiful this afternoon. We've had quite a few 20+ days already, and even a couple with a humidex, but today was the first day that felt like summer. No feeling of spring chill in the air this morning or this evening. It will remain warm overnight with thunderstorms. Today's high was 27.2 with a humidex of 32. Low of 14 this morning.

Low of 5C last night. Rain started early.

The warmspot was Windsor, ON at 27.5C. New warmest high this year in Canada.

Warmest low yesterday was Osoyoos, BC at 10.8C.
