Yup, it's really quite awful. Only from a lawsuit were renderings released and
even then I could not believe this was the chosen design. Just wait till the west
lawn is dug up so you can walk down a sloop below ground to enter victors center.
I believe this is for crowd control so it's less appealing for those that
want to have rally's on the west steps.

New Building Permits Filed For Sacramento Soccer Stadium

By: Andrew Nelson 5:30 am on March 25, 2026

New building permits have been filed for a 20,000-seat multi-purpose sports stadium at 11 7th Street in Sacramento’s Railyards District. The updated plans for Sacramento Republic FC show the team is shifting away from the initial 12,000-seat iteration expected for the site toward a larger canopy-capped facility. The application comes several months after the groundbreaking ceremony held by the team last August.

Wilton Rancheria and the Sacramento Republic FC are jointly responsible for the project. According to the team’s press release, Wilton Rancheria will be the first tribal nation to own a club and stadium. Once complete, the complex is expected to contain at least 20,000 seats, making it the largest sports venue in Sacramento. MANICA is the design architect, working with the architect of record, House & Robertson Architects.

...

Initial grading work started on the stadium last August, with foundation work expected to start after April this year. The previous timeline projected the stadium would finish in early 2027, though it’s unclear how much the increased size will push back completion. The project is also expected to host performances and concerts, transforming the space to accommodate up to 27,000 attendees for special events.
