The core of the dispute relates to the company's Stamps Landing location, which the plaintiff alleges is losing money. The other location, near the Vancouver Convention Centre, at Burrard Landing, in contrast, is making money, according to the notice of civil claim. The plaintiffs say that they solely invested in the Burrard Landing location, and they are claiming that the Burrard Landing location is subsidizing the Stamps Landing location

I noticed they are working hard on a new restaurant right across the street, walked by and looked inside and it looks like it will be nice.

Wasn't it a Polestar showroom for a while?

Might be an Asian restaurant going by the contractor. They got their permit in March.

Disagree. This wasn’t anything special.

Can't say I cared for the previous building at all. The new one is nothing special either but I don't see any loss in painting over the concrete.

It's a pretty reversable modification too, if the building needs to be preserved as a brutalist example it can be removed pretty easily.

That would probably be for 1045 Burnaby, a Gracorp 15 storey rental building.

'A defining moment for dance:' Vancouver Dance Centre secures its legacy with $6-million land purchase

The Dance Centre’s $6-million purchase of the land under its building at 677 Davie St. will have “lasting impact” for Vancouver’s arts community, according to local artistic director Wen Wei Wang.

“Space is essential for artists — it is where we train, experiment, collaborate and bring ideas to life,” Wang, a Dance Centre board director and head of Wen Wei Dance, said in a statement. “Through my work with Wen Wei Dance, I have seen how important it is for artists to have places where creativity and community can grow together.”

The purchase from leaseholder Scotiabank comes at a time when cultural spaces everywhere are under financial pressure, and many are closing.

Thank you for this very interesting report.

Here's an interesting excerpt that i think summarizes perfectly theresistance to addressing the issues on Granville "Honest recognition of these circumstances has often been complicated by concerns about conceding failures of policy and investment. Yet that honesty is precisely the starting point for the kind of deliberate, well resourced intervention that Granville’s potential — and the people already invested in it —genuinely warrant. "

another interesting excerpt regarding social disorder downtown "Downtown Van has been monitoring the progression of Bill C-14, the Bail and Sentencing Reform Act. The legislation proposes stricter bail conditions and tougher
sentencing for serious and repeat offenders, and has been the focus of interparty cooperation to expedite its passage. It passed a third reading in the House of Commons on February 13, 2026, and is now awaiting consideration by the Senate."

They're estimating 1167-1193 Granville St to be completed in 2027.. Not sure how credible these dates are tho

I think they're a mix of project completion/start dates.

Reliance is making a sales centre on the 10th floor with hotel room mockups for the Hotel Germain project
