Connecting to Skyscraper Page: I haven't noticed any unusual issues connecting to the site, except maybe an occasion or two where it wanted to verify you weren't a bot.

According to curbsideclassic.com, Bob Fujimoto's gas station was at 2101 Sawtelle Boulevard. Here's an earlier photo I found, although I don't know if that's Bob.

He lived, with I guess his father, just steps away, across the cross street Mississippi Ave. Papa ran a billiards parlor at 11310 Mississippi, also just steps away.

You might(?) need to delete your browser cache for skyscraperpage.com on your laptop.

I've had connection problems with the forum on certain days, but not recently.

Here’s the museum’s undated image:

I would quickly guess the eastside of L.A. just past the Trainmen’s building at the trackage junction, but I’m a repeat customer at the proven idiot counter.

I believe 1299 was spotted just east of the Soto St. bridge (in the background). This is the point where a stop was made to change from 600 volts to 1200 volts power for the remainder of the trip to San Bernardino. The structure that appears behind the bridge is the Valley Jct. substation. Hope this helps, and thanks for all of your contributions here, Alkapone!

I happened upon this interesting image earlier today on eBay

"Gas Automobile Service Station 1977 Culver City California"

Are there any Culver Citerions [sic] that remember this old decrepit gas station?..As you can see it appears to be next to an apartment building.

.

That service station I think was located at 6125 Washington Blvd, at the corner with La Cienega Ave.

You can see it here on a 1960 aerial with the apartment building (3222 La Cienega) behind it.

I've not found a directory listing, only mention of a permit for the installation of new tanks by Texaco in 1955.

It's really good.

I haven't seen that but have seen and recently rewatched the 2001 documentary Dogtown and Z-Boys https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0275309/

It is good and is basically the story told by the original crew.

It appears to be the store with the dangling balls bells. (but I don't remember which store that is.

Note the two fashion plates posing out front.

This is Fashion Island in Newport Beach. Orange County. The building is still there in all its glory!

The building with the sloped roof is no doubt a tiki place but the location escapes me.
.

What came first…the Chicken of the Sea World or the Tiki Egg up on La Cienega?

A mystery car place.

I'm confused by this one because of how it's described. (not only on eBay but at other sources as well)

"BELL POINT MOTORS LOS ANGELES 1977 GAS STATION PHOTOGRAPH"

ebay

SO why is it described as Bell Point Motors when it clearly says P & J Motors?

I asked A.I.

So. . um. .when John Margolies took all these fantastic photographs of gas stations (and such) for his 'roadside' book why didn't he include the addresses?
It would have made the book a lot more interesting -especially now that we have the internet.

Anyhoo. . .

Another mystery gas station for today.

As far as I can tell there aren't many clues as to where (in west Los Angeles) this Union gas station was located.

"UNION OIL GAS STATION WEST LOS ANGELES 1976"

eBay

I've included it because I like the scalloped awning.

A pretty woman dressed to the nines at the Santa Monica Pier.

I've been trying to decide if that's the actual Pacific Ocean behind her or a painted backdrop like they have in a photographer's studio?

Here's the reverse.

Many sources give the address as 11059 Garvey Avenue, El Monte. I think it's probably the same building, albeit with modifications.

I think you're right, Hoss. Thanks.

I just located a second photograph of the scalloped awning Union gas station.

Compare it to the first photograph HERE

Here's the same gas station a bit closer and from a different angle.

Note that the 'zig-zag' along the top is actually NEON....Very cool.
