Are the other stations outside of main station going to be able to be filled in/covered without fully closing broadway? Sorry if this was discussed already

"More information about the removal of the remaining traffic decks will be shared before work begins."

I personally think they'll opt for full road closures since it just makes the road restoration significantly quicker to do it all at once.

The only issue might be which side streets they use on the other station blocks to redirect traffic.

There is a concrete pump on site that is actively pouring concrete adjacent to the Lee Building.

The Broadway Subway Project Corporation is in your neighbourhood restoring E. Broadway between Main and
Quebec streets. As part of this work, crews will be working at night March 30 through the morning of April 3 to
connect the new water main to the city’s water system and install new water service connections to individual
buildings. Water to neighbouring businesses and residences will be temporarily shut off between midnight and 6 a.m.
on select nights. The work will be performed overnight to minimize the impact on businesses and residents.

There's still no talk of traffic deck removal for the other stations in the latest February 2026 project update

I think it will take them the full four months to complete the work, especially if they are doing new sidewalks.

There was a picture of the work happening that was taken from the Jollibee's on Broadway at Cambie yesterday on X, and people are doubting it will be done by 2027, which is next year. They say we will be lucky if it's completed by 2030; some were betting the Surrey extension will be finished first. It does look pretty far behind.

Seems like people on X don't know what they're talking about.

It’s absurd how someone can claim this will take another four years. Four years ago they were assembling the traffic decks and hadn’t even started assembling the TBMs.

The picture was of the section on the west side of Cambie? That section should see backfilling start in the next month or two, if there isn’t much utilities work there I think we should see Cambie restored there by this summer.

Curious to see the link if you've got it, if only for the photo, and not the armchair analysis.

Arbutus is next in line to have its traffic deck removed.

Quote:
This spring, construction at the future Arbutus Station is entering a new phase, with crews beginning to reinstate
permanent utilities and remove the traffic deck. One lane in each direction will be maintained on W. Broadway as crews
rebuild the roadway above the completed station roof. In total, crews will remove 139 traffic deck panels and 28 girders,
together weighing nearly 2,000 tonnes.

Work to install permanent utilities will begin in spring between Arbutus and Cypress streets. This includes the Capilano
Main network, which delivers nearly one billion litres of drinking water every day. Meanwhile, crews will continue to
backfill above the station, with work moving west towards Arbutus Street. Inside the station, masonry works,
mechanical and electrical installation continues.

To complete this work efficiently, crews will continue working primarily during the day and intermittently overnight.
We remain committed to keeping residents and businesses informed as this important transit project moves forward in
your neighbourhood. Check the Current Work page on our website for more information, including maps on how to
access businesses and services during the work.
Seems like they'll keep one lane each way during the road restoration.

At Mount Pleasant Station, crews are busy backfilling and installing new utilities to prepare for reopening the road in late May.

Here, an excavator lifts a new piece of a maintenance hole in place on Broadway. This area has now been backfilled nearly up to street level.

Well for one, they don’t have the Lee Building to deal with.

There's two full blocks of other buildings though? Much larger project than Main, surely there would be cost/time savings from a full closure. But as mentioned, West Side Treatment (tm)
