The housing project to house the unhoused off Bridge Street in Bathurst should be ready by the end of the month according to the mayor. Located on the old mill site they went with construction trailers with units inside rather than small micro homes. Overall this is fantastic for the city which has about 50 or more people living on the streets.

Some condos are being planned for the same property as comfort inn at1170 St Peter Avenue in Bathurst. The old shoe repair building and auto body shop next door will be torn down
4 floors about 34 units.

That will be built on the parking lot behind the Comfort Inn, PAC says the property of 1170 will be subdivided in two parcels with the apartment having access via ocean ridge. That company is also owner of the hotel, who is making application to the PAC. Its on the Jan 2026 PAC notice.

There in another development application before the PAC by a numbered company for 1180, where the body shop and shoe repair shop used to be for 8 units, that one is before the nov 2025 PAC notice.

Those are two separate developments.

Speaking to Hospital staff at the Bathurst Hospital, they tell me the new addition is set to open end of December. I guess construction had to re build walls as some were not built to proper specs. Its been under construction for a long time.

Retail Talk and Share NB is reporting that Miramichi may be home to the 2nd NB DollarTree...one of the members was speaking to staff at a halifax location and said Miramichi is soon....The old Hart location at Northumberland plaza is under renovation....this seems to be all adding up.

From CCD Canada:

Quote:
NB - EDMUNDSTON
CORNU SA
NEW BAKERY PROCESSING FACILITY
$33,000,000
A little digging around indicates this is a Swiss company undergoing North American expansion. It will be supported by Opportunities NB. About 50 jobs will be created.

The Edmundston location suggests they plan to sell into the Quebec market. I wonder if we will see their products in the Maritimes as well? I imagine they will show up in stores like Maxi in northern NB and the Coop=IGA in Dieppe at least, since their supply chains are out of Quebec.

Just reading in the TJ that Korean wants to build torpedoes in Canada to sweeten the deal on the submarines, and as the deal was not sweet enough, the deal would also include the establishment of a hydrogen production facility. Now, what port has a plan to implement a hydrogen production facility, is also on the Radar for a supply base for the Canadian Navy, where a weapons production facility would also make sense????

That would be huge for the port of Belledune if all those pieces would fall into place, would mean ensured growth for the region for a very long time…. One can only cross his finger and hope this would all work out!!!

I found this planned 2-3 story apartment on Facebook the other day i thought I would share. Dalhousie hasn't seen much development at all in the last couple of decades.

From Glidden developments on Facebook:

"We’re thrilled to announce the launch of our newest development! 125 Ramsey Street in Dalhousie
Designed with modern living in mind, this project combines quality craftsmanship, thoughtful design, and a prime location to create a space you’ll be proud to call home (or invest in!)."

That Port would be the most logical. IMO. The cards are there, just who is willing to deal them?

The current provincial government has included the port in their wish list of National Projects, so there would be, I think a political willingness to make this project move forward on the provincial side, for once!

I would imagine they would want an outside entry, wonder where they would go.

Also Propair now has 2 daily flights out of Bathurst to Montreal

Looks like St Louis Bar and Grill for Bathurst is no longer happening. The franchise is up for sale. The owner of the Edmundston location was going to open a location in Bathurst but apparently has changed face.

I’m not even sure if the Edmundston location has opened after all
