Maybe not, zoning is already approved for 8 stories in that area, hopefully we will see some movement on this soon but at this point, probably gonna get an early spring start at best.

Those bigger buildings will necessitate more investments with emergency services, fire fighters for sure.

Also, a new industry in the food sector is setting up shop in Edmundston, 50 new jobs for the region. A swiss company that will produce products under the name La Fabrique will produce products for the North American market.

The new A&W in Bathurst is essentially finished construction. They appear to be getting ready to furnish it. Speaking to the owner he wants to be open by December 14th if no delays

The launch of the new transportation network for the city of Bathurst happened this morning at the Kc Irving Center. I took the opportunity to check it out. See below for details.

Flex Go will be the company moving people in the city of Bathurst. Key points:

-Flex Go operates a very successful transit system currently in the city of Edmundston and surrounding areas.
-January 19th is the start date.
-its a door to door public service.
-Reserve 1 hour in advance minimum and 7 days ahead maximum.
-First phase covers all of Bathurst
-They are on-time 98% of the time and to location for the customers location 99% of the time.
-flexgo plus will be a wheelchair accessible service. Reserve these rides at least a day before with this service, 7 days max in advance.
-A flexgo app is available for the customers to use. You will get notifications via text when your bus arrives. And track your ride options
-The buses will be 24 passager vehicles.The accessible vans will be smaller vehicles. The amount of equipment will grow based on demand.
-The Service will have WiFi in its equipment.

-hours of operation:
Mon to Wed 5:15am - 8pm.
Thursday Friday 5:15am to 10pm
Saturday 6:30am to 6:30pm.
Sunday closed

- Ride Fee $5 per ride. Student and seniors are $4 per ride.
-10 ride booklets are offered at $45 /$35 for students and seniors.
-Monthly passes are $100/$75 for seniors and students

Im not sure, but the focus seams to be on a battery plant on the site of the old smelter at the moment.

I was speaking to a city councilor. He tells me that water works are being installed on the old mill site as soon as the snow melts. Interest in the property is high....we could see housing going up as soon as the infrastructure is completed. There is large patches of nice clean property on the total site.

Does anyone have any information on the new rail siding they're building just north of Grand Falls? I heard it's for railroad ballast. A lot of new track has been laid down. I can't find anything on it online.

Application for rezoning has been made for the back parking lot of the Comfort Inn in Bathurst, it will be subdivided in its own parcel and a proposed 4 story 39 units is planned to be built there with access via Ocean Ridge

There is a announcement tommorow afternoon at the Bathurst airport. Its apparently going to announce a new carrier for the airport. Im going to make a guess the PAL airlines is going to take over Air Canada's schedule

FlexGo, public transit, is launching tomorrow in Bathurst, and will eventually follow the rest of the chaleur region. Will operate on the same model as they do in Edmundston. Will be nice to see the busses on the road.

Infill project behind Comfort Inn where a 4 story apartment building will be built, rumours of another 4-6 story building near the hospital.

Work is underway at the corner of main and king for the 6 story apartment/retail space building, will be built along the same way as the one on Champlain where the old Pizza delight was.

Just looking at posts on FB and the renovations of the old Home Hardware in downtown Woodstock seem to be nearly complete. The upper floor was turned into apartments, with the windows in the front of the building being exposed after decades being covered up.

The ground floor has a new laundromat (the towns only one since Suds Your Duds closed across the creek), and a new bookstore should be open in a month or two. The laundromat looks very nice, very modern and coinless.

It's good to see the building flipped like that. With the changes to the Capital building too, the town does seem to be holding its own.

Also the growth happening in behind Carleton Mall towards Walmart is incredible; the townhouses and apartments have been sprouting like mad over the past few years.

It would be nice to see the downtown core fill in more, after they lost a few buildings along Main street.

Yeah. Two huge holes on Main street is rough. Excellent housing opportunity. 50 years ago, they would have been rebuilt right away.

More Row Houses are planned for St Anne street in Bathurst. The proposal is for a small subdivision across from Kent, behind a new apartment structure already under construction.
