Seems like the Passport Office at 950 Granville has their final BP inspection this week.

Hopefully hotels keep the downtown construction activity alive over the next 3-4 years.

Few days ago. Digging is progressing rapidly

Demo and abatement of the buildings at Robson and Cardero well underway as well. Grocery store and rental if I recall.

The old listel site having some new rental stock will be good for the area too.

Still sad to see of the offices go in that section of the West End and wished we get some more outside the CBD that are local serving but not on the main floor

770 Pacific Blvd

There was fencing up around this parking lot this morning. I assume this is FIFA related, but is there a chance this development is moving forward?

That's the area but the entire parking lot is fenced off (and empty). It was storage/parking for moving trucks, party buses, and used for BC Place "Event parking". It seems early for a FIFA based setup, but also terrible timing if they are planning construction/demo here too.

City enters deal with B.C. to close 3 Vancouver SROs in entertainment district

A joint statement from Sim and Housing and Municipal Affairs Minister Christine Boyle explains that the province has agreed to make “best efforts” to relocate residents of the Luugat Hotel by June, while the city will provide land for the five proposed new sites.

“It is intended that the three SRO sites will be replaced with approximately 280 self-contained units outside of the GED,” the statement says.

The mayor says the move will give SRO residents the chance to move into higher-quality housing with the supports they need, and bring back some vibrancy to the Granville Entertainment District.

“The Government of BC and the City of Vancouver agree that this work will be undertaken in a way that preserves the dignity of existing SRO tenants, respects the Residential Tenancy Act, and addresses public safety concerns.”

And where exactly are they going to relocate them to?

Let's see if we find out before the civic election.
